Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
The holiday season had its own party circuit, which meant a good deal of required attendances, fake smiling, and either lining up dates for parties or avoiding debutantes should you go stag. So not exactly his favourite part of the holiday season, especially when you added in the penchant for these sorts of things to get robbed. But the Gotham lot was a jaded one, hell, they bet on which parties would get hit.

Wayne ones had the highest chances. Typical.

At least this particular charity one he didn't hate. The benefit had a medical theme, and of course Wayne Enterprises would be there, Bruce had established the Thomas Wayne Foundation specifically for dealing with medical related things. The foundation was hosting the event to raise money for various organizations, Doctors Without Borders among them. Though tonight he was mostly grateful he'd never changed his name, because god would it be awkward to have the same name as the foundation hosting this thing.

Thomas had on the usual impeccably tailored suit expected of him at these things, and he adjusted the red tie a bit before walking by one of the drink trays and swiping a glass for himself. Long night here, he'd need the drink.

"Yes. She --" Barbie paused for a moment, blinking. "It's happened. Pippi's talent has expanded. The conversation is excessively surreal, and she isn't even in the building."

He hid his smirk for a moment behind a nose rub, before just full out amused smirking at her at the end of that sentence. "Really now? Discussion of how well a chainsaw wielding girl can take care of a cat is excessively surreal? Surreal I'll grant you but surely you've had worse. Now I could pull out cat pictures, but I'm not sure if that'd change the topic or make it more surreal to you."

"Heh. Yes, I've had worse. Often with Pippi herself. This is just kinda symptomatic. But yes, she has a chainsaw. And generally her best method of taking care of a cat is to get someone else to do it. There are apparently pet stores all over Kansas with her picture and 'do not sell.'"

"Well...I guess at least the cat gets taken care of then." Though eyebrow raising at the pet store bit. "That's...something special. Have you made any black lists anywhere?" He smirked slightly.

"They made me stay out of gym class in high school. That's about it."

"You really didn't miss much there, unless you like the liberal application of Axe body spray. If so then I'm afraid you missed the gold mine."

"And here I thought they were worried the exertion would be bad for my breathing problems."

He chuckled. "Oh no, not exertion at all." He noticed one of the more...driven (the polite term) women of old money making a too-straight bee line in this direction. Sigh, probably trying to attach him to her daughter or something. Old money meets old money or some such nonsense. Time to make his escape.

He turned to Barbie and shot her a smile. "Wonderful talking to you, but I need to bow out, being hunted." His eyes indicated the woman behind her doing an admirable job dodging crowds to head this way. When she turned back around he'd managed to produce some mistletoe, from his sleeve, a pocket, some other sleight of hand, it wasn't clear but there it was. There wasn't much other warning before he leaned down to give her a brief kiss and smile again.

"Happy holidays, I hope to see you around," he grinned over his shoulder as he turned around to make his disappearance into the crowd and foil his pursuer.
