Guard Duty
After another day of the young prince's absence, Liliya had had enough. His Imperial Highness, the Grand Duke Mikhail Loganovich of Russia disappeared at will. He followed no set schedule, had no regular protection and, as far as she could determine, little self-preservation. It had to stop. Until the Tsar's line was assured, Mikhail was important to their people. If Tsar Mikhail's descendants proved fragile, their American prince could conceivably take the throne in the next hundred or so years.

Difficult to kill he may be, but not impossible. As a member of the Holy Band, she had a duty to protect the Romanov family. Her other loyalties required the same duty. Staying anonymous wasn't working. She would have to talk to his mother.

She would have made an appointment to speak with Her Imperial Highness, but time was of the essence. She needed to find Mikhail immediately. To that end, she was at the building that housed the Stark condo, requesting to speak to Natalia Romanova before breakfast.

Natasha had been up early as always. Now that she was in her second trimester she wasn't leaning over the toilet with morning sickness and she actually had some energy. It was amazing what a week or two could do.

The doorman downstairs called up to announce that she had unexpected company. Natasha ran the woman's name through S.H.I.E.L.D. and when she was satisfied, she called down to give permission to allow the woman to enter.

Natasha answered the door when the knock finally came.

Lili nodded once in return, acknowledging the problem. It would not be the first time Mikhail Romanov's life had been in her hands, only the first time he and his mother would be aware of it. Ivan Petrovich warned her not to speak of Red Room or her role in the boy's imprisonment.

She fished a card with her direct contact number from her pocket. "I would appreciate if you let me know when he returns. I keep watch, but Xavier's Institute is difficult to monitor and there is a young man staying at the penthouse. I do not wish to disturb him unless it is necessary."

"If there is any service I might perform for you, High..." she caught herself, "Mrs. Stark, please do not hesitate to ask."
