Bug Bites
Sydney seriously could not remember a time when she had felt lower. Her first feel outing with the Thunderbolts and she'd barely had time to do anything before both her armor and she herself had been taken out of the fight. At least the SWORD medics had been able to patch her up and given her an otherwise clean bill of health. The other T-Bolts had checked out fine too, before being given a clean bill of health, and the SWORD troops, after bringing in a piece of heavy ordinance, had routed the rest of the bugs (though not without a few injuries of their own) and confiscated the ship.

Now, a couple days later, Sydney was hunched over a table in the lab, working on designs for her suit.

She had to be better. She had to have some kind of purpose here. Because right now? She wasn't seeing it. Not with Stark here. Who needed her second-rate gear when there was genuine Stark-tech around?

	Elise knocked on the door to the lab. The bug bite had been nasty and Elise had been so caught up in obliterating the monsters that she really hadn't looked after Sydney. She wanted to rectify that now. (Reply to this)(Thread)

"Indeed. So it would be natural for them to take out the greatest threat and leave the lesser ones for last. This is probably why the rest of us were uninjured. They needed to take you out of the fight because they felt they could deal with us. I imagine Victor was probably next to be bitten."

Elise frowned at her scratching and got up to get the lab's first aid kit.

"You probably need your bandages changed. Perhaps a little bit of air to the wound will help with the itching as well. It is something that..." her voice dropped. "my mother taught me."

She didn't ordinarily like relying on people for things--her father's running out when she was small had certainly cemented the notion that people were unreliable--but she appreciated the help. 	"Thanks," she said again. "I am. My uncle built the first generation of it, but I've been improving it ever since." Underneath the bandages, however, was a sight that could probably not be called an improvement. The skin was a distorted, grayish color, the same color as the skin of the bugs. "Remain calm. It just looks unusual, but it IS a bad bite. I do think that we should get someone else to look at this, though. It might be getting infected. Really though, stay calm. I've seen worse."

She carefully covered the wound with clean bandages and then bagged the spoiled ones in a ziploc just in case there were enzymes on them that needed investigation.

"Would you prefer me call a doctor or get a teammate in here?"

	The S.H.I.E.L.D. medical team arrived on scene and carried a stasis chamber between the four of them. The stopped next to the Thunderbolts. One opened the chamber while another stepped forward. 	Victor takes a card for himself, but he's not exactly cool with SHIELD to begin with. This whole situation reeks of the sort of thing where people end up experiments under the jurisdiction of those 'in charge'. (Reply to this)(Parent)
