This is going to require a lot of cake. (Midnight Sons)
Shelly was curious by nature. It had gotten her into a ton of trouble as a kid especially when she turned her curiosity on her little brother, Dante. Jericho had sent them both to pocket dimensions for time out and that should have broken her of her curiousness, but it hadn't. Instead it taught her to be more stealthy about it which was why when she unleashed the ritual to sniff out Matt's birthday she expected a nice quiet result that she could then take to do gleefully naughty things with. What she got was far different.

"You have got to be kidding me." The ritual results ended up telling her the birthdays of everyone she'd been in close proximity to (save for her patients, she had a ward for that.) Greg, Michelle, and Matt were all Halloween babies. She actually facepalmed.

"Okay. Fine. Three birthdays. Three cakes. Then we all go to Mac's." She'd have to find a more appropriate costume for this since it was going to be more than just Matt, but she could do that. She could pull it all off.

Three hours later, there were three cakes, an assortment of beers, and some light snacks (and some special things for Michelle if she needed them) spread out in the expansive dining area of Shelly's penthouse. Simultaneously, magical invitations alerted the members of the team to a pre-party at Shelly's. Now all she had to do was sit back and wait.

	Matt arrives soon after and realizes that this is a birthday party. "So...you found out our birthdays, huh?" Matt asks, looking at Shelly, before cracking a smile. "Two can play that game. Make sure you don't have plans tomorrow." he grins. Yes, he'd gone about finding out her birthday the same way she'd done his. His surprise for her was already ready. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Hey," she said and smiled at Michelle. "Cake and beer...and I've got some other stuff if that's easier. I don't know some things. But happy birthday!" 	Matt goes and gets himself a beer, then nods at Greg and Michelle. "I haven't had a birthday yet where something crazy didn't crop up before the end of the night. Here's hoping that it doesn't happen this year. I'd like one quiet evening to relax." he says. He then nods at Karen. "Glad you could make it, Lynch. Haven't seen you around much." "Yeah, some stuff went down with Sorcerer Supreme. Shelly and I helped out with that. Otherwise, I've been working on a few things." Matt says, declining to elaborate further.

He'd been working with Lynch for a long time, but he still thought she deserved something of a normal life outside of all the supernatural business. He hoped that, by not telling her too much, she could have that kind of peace.

	"The free trip to England was a perk." After that bullshit was over she'd dragged Matt to the first chips shop she could find and had several pints of beer. "Well, I'm hoping for quiet myself. 	Whether Matt liked it or not Karen was in this and she would do whatever she could to protect her city from the things that go bump in the night.
