The Beginning of Renaissance Tech
Anya looked at her watch. Ten minutes late. She didn't think her father would ever be on time for anything. The press conference for the unveiling of the zero point energy technology was supposed to start ten minutes ago, but Dad was late. Though he called it making an entrance.

Anya didn't like press conferences and would prefer to stay out of the spotlight, unusual for a Stark, but her father insisted she be here for this. Zero point energy had been her and Justin's project and they should be the ones to unveil it to the public.

Well at least she could give Justin the finished code for the tricorder. She had finished it yesterday and was going to send it to him, but this way she could give it to him in person.

Anya started to pace.

Justin's heart was beating rapidly; for once, this was not a bad thing or a sign of issues to come. The new nanites were working like a dream and Justin had been able to run a whole two miles yesterday without worrying that he'd have to go to the hospital after.

Working out felt really good. Maybe he'd do it after this press conference to calm his nerves.

"Anya, can you please not pace? It's making me nervous. I thought you Starks liked the cameras and stuff?" Justin teases, trying to break the tension.

"Is Steve going to be here?" he asks. "And where's your dad? He's not really going to make us go this alone is he?"

"Okay, let's get this show on the road!" Tony says, finally arriving. He's got his best suit on (of course, every suit he owns is his best suit, including his birthday one), and a gleam in his eye.

"Princess! Justin! You both look like you're at press conference or something." Tony laughs.

"Hey, if worse comes to worse, picture everyone naked. It calms my nerves." Tony says.

	Tony cuts him off. "You're staying. That's final. Now, just relax and remember that you two are the experts here. These people came to listen to you and they'll ask questions, but it's nothing you don't already know the answer to." Tony tells them both. Justin thought the press conference would never end, but he was glad Anya was there. He'd done all right for himself, but when he stumbled, Anya was there to pick up the slack.

The moment they were through the curtain, Justin looked down at her.

"I don't know about you, but I think a cheeseburger and a pound of fries from Big Nick's is the /least/ we should get for enduring that.

Care to join me?" he asks.

"Yeah, that's what I hear." Justin says somberly. "I don't really know what that's like, being rich. Where I'm from, having a place to sleep for the night that wouldn't get raided before dawn and a hot meal was the height of luxury.

I've got an idea of what I'm going to do with some of that money, but if there's anything left, I'm kind of at a loss." Justin tells her.

He's asked this question to a couple of others before, but now he has to ask Anya.

"What's it like being rich?" he asks.

"I considered both of those points, but I don't envy all the attention you and Steve get. Anyone can look you guys up and there's pictures of the two of you all over the net. My AI filters out that sort of thing during my searches." Justin says.

"Speaking of...do you think I could get a copy of your operating system for the computers at the new building? I love it on my laptop and I can't imagine going back to Windows." Justin says.

"I think I'm going to purchase stock in several companies, when I get the chance. I'd like to keep my ear to the ground on what advancements are being made out there." he says.

"You get used to the paparazzi. It sounds weird, but most of the time I don't give them a second thought let alone a first. I grew up around it so I guess I'm used to it."

That caught Anya's interest.

"Did you order the hardware yet? If not, I can set you guys up with some sweet hardware. I'm getting pretty good at this setting up a base thing. You might say I have had a little practice. I'll come and install the hardware if it needs to be done and the software."

"I can make you a lab like mine," she said with a huge grin. Then again she couldn't remember if Justin had seen her lab in Cambridge.

"Do I dare assume you want everything running on zero point energy?" she asked. "School's done for the summer and I don't start my summer thing with the company for another week. I can come out and help. I could possibly even talk Steve into helping with the move and the heavy lifting."

"Yes, definitely zero point energy. It'll make everything so much easier in the long run." Justin says. "I've got a lot of work planned with some redesigns and upgrades for our wardrobe." he tells her.

His expression becomes a bit more serious when talk turns to Steve.

"How is he doing these days, Anya? He's been through a lot; lesser men would have fallen apart a long time ago. Is he okay?" Justin asks.

"It's settled then. I'll come out and install your computers and software. Help with the zero point energy and you can work on our wardrobe."

"He's as good as one expects for someone who had to go through that. He has nightmares, but he's working through it all with Doc Samson's help. The arm is working okay, though it's cold to brush up against it in bed. I worry, but then again I'm his wife so it's in the job description to worry."

"I got a week. Totally doable. I don't sleep and I have an small army to call upon. I can have everything installed and up and running by next Monday. Not a problem. Though you will owe me for making me miss a weekend with my husband." She gave him a wink.

"Just make sure you have someone around to pull you out. They keep telling me it's...." Anya stopped. Her eyes went wide and she smiled when a thought crossed her mind. "Not healthy. But Toni is there and she'll make sure you get out of the lab." And won't be around to drag me out, she thought.

Anya ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the works.

"Not a problem." Justin says, writing down the address for her.

"The set-up is pretty easy. The offices are on the first two floors, and the sub-basement where the labs will be, so that's where the major work will happen. I'd just like to get the apartments set up with Wi-Fi and everything for personal computers and what not.

You know how to do this sort of thing, though, so I'll defer to your wisdom on this.

But I can't wait until the lab is set up. I'm thinking of trying to develop a new suit, if I can." he says.
