Odette! :D
Seth strummed his fingers on his knee as he waited for Odette to show up to the small cafe they had agreed to meet at.  To say he wasn't nervous would probably be a lie, being as this was either go well or be a complete disaster.  There usually wasn't any middle ground between the two of them, even though things have gotten better than where they were two years ago.  Or even last year.

He had expected to have to bribe her to come out and speak with him.  Or at least that she would make him beg and plead and promise to be on his best behavior, but no.  Just an 'Okay', which was odd.  She had even written the words 'I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt' which was so much bigger than her just saying it.  There was actual proof that it had happened.

He didn't bother to stand up when she arrived because really, that would have just been way too over the top, what would he have done, pulled out her chair for her?  Right.  Because that wouldn't start rumors up again.  "Hey." he said pleasantly enough, looking up from his coffee.

Odette was on a mission. And this mission was going to be fulfilled. She fully intended to actually rise from within her own status ashes to form a completely different public reputation so much so that everyone around the world would be baffled at the mere thought of who they thought she use to be.

People were going to love her, because she was going to make them. The names of home-wrecker, cheater and attention whore were permanently behind her. Soon, they would see her as a kick-ass Seeker that only participated in wonderful things outside of the quidditch field to match her polite personality.

And Seth here was going to help her achieve it--- it was the least he could do, after being the sole reason as to why this all started. That was why she had so easily agreed to meeting with him. I scratch your back if you scratch mine. Plus, she hadn't really felt like dealing with whatever begging he had up his sleeve to get her to come anyway. It was just easier this way.

"Hello," Odette spoke, attempting to sound as pleasant as possible. This was one of the first days she had been away from Anna for more than an hour--- and she really didn't like how she felt about it. Today had been most definitely a pre-training, preparing for the season kind of day so Noah just took the children but--- Odette quickly pushed down the rising emotions concerning her daughter, knowing it was not smart to bring that out here.

Pulling out a container of water (she was also on a strict healthy diet after eating whatever she wanted during pregnancy), Odette sat down across the table from Seth. She hadn't really thought what he wanted to talk about until now...

"So," she spoke again, taking a sip of water expectantly.

"I'm going to ask for my captaincy back." Seth said without preamble when Odette prompted. He promised it was going to be about quidditch and he was sticking to it.

"It was only meant to be temporary anyways, until I got my shit together and I have, so..." He fidgeted slightly, what was the point of telling Odette this before hand again? Oh yea, because the meeting was probably going to end in disaster and he wanted at least one person on his side.

And why did he think that was going to be Odette again? Oh yea that's right, he didn't exactly think this all through. This is exactly why you didn't make decisions while still on the high of just coming back from an awesome vacation that only involved you and your kid.

"I was-- You see--" He tripped over his word because he just couldn't get out 'I would like you to back me up on this please'. This whole idea was beyond ridiculous. Odette was best friends with Drystan. Every one was. Chances were he wasn't going to win this one even if he did deserve to. "I don't know, I guess I just thought you ought to know before I crash and burn in this meeting."

He shoved his hands in his pockets and stared down at the table. "Things have changed. It wouldn't be like before. You're past pushing me off my broom, and I'm past acting like a complete ass all the time."

If she hadn't just put down her water, Odette would have choked on it and died. Seth wanted his captaincy back? He had to be joking. Things were just starting to get better now, going back to normal like when before he had joined the team. Why in the bloody world would he want to ruin that? For the fucking love of all that was right in the world! Drystan had all of them running smoothly, in-team fighting had gone down to absolute zero-- they actually had a shot at rebuilding the Magpies name that what it use to be--- respected! Why would he want to change any of that?

Odette's face stayed impassive as Seth spoke, knowing fully well it was better for her to react once he had finished. It was a horrible idea that would crash and burn once he brought it to the rest of the team. And why he had chosen to tell her first of all people was equally as confusing. Did he think--- did he think she would support him? Try to rally the rest of them? Oh no, no no. She enjoyed being accepted by the rest of the team (it was more so now than before), and she wasn't going to do anything that would make that go away.

Why did he think she should know before this was all going to happen? Odette's mouth tightened as her eyes suddenly took a sharper interest in Seth. "I don't think that's a very good idea right now," she spoke finally, her arms moving to cross tightly over her chest. Besides, it didn't matter what things were like now, the past was still very much present in their minds as well as the public's. And honestly, that was all that mattered in the end.
