Halloween Gala - Open to All! for the 31st

Henry had shaken more hands tonight than he had in his entire career as a quidditch agent. It seemed like everyone was in agreement; the charity was a great idea and this fundraiser was turning out to be a huge success. Henry was the first to turn the talk to his brother, telling those who approached him that Seth was the mind behind it all, but apparently his brother had been boasting the exact opposite, and Henry was receiving praise he didn't normally receive.

It could really make a bloke feel like a million galleons, to tell you the truth.

Standing at a corner of the dance floor to get a good view of things, Henry felt someone slink particularly close to him and he smiled down at his glowing girlfriend. While it had taken Henry about a week to be able to talk normally without a stutter after Heidi had revealed the news, he was now brimming with pride in just about all aspects of his life.

"Are you having a good time?" he asked, putting a hand to her lower back. Henry had been scolded to not fret as much, so he refrained from asking if she was tired and needed to sit, or go home! He'd go home if she wished. "The band should be starting up again soon."

"Everything looks wonderful," she assured him with a smile, "And before you ask again, I'm fine. I wore shoes with extra room in them in case my feet swell up." And from the looks of things, that had been the best decision. "But really -- everything is great, Henry. Look what you and your apparently not-so-incompetent brother can do when you put your heads together." Not something she thought she would be saying, but she had to admit that Seth had been giving Henry some well-deserved spotlight for once.

"Even the food's good. The last banquet I went to was luke-warm roast and gluey potatoes."

Henry kept his smile even if he was mentally miffed that Heidi assumed he was going to fret. He had been trying to be good, what was the point in trying if you were just to be reminded that you weren't doing a very good job? He brushed it off however, still in too much of a good mood to take too much offense (but he was Henry, so his ego was of course slightly stung).

"Gluey potatoes?" Henry pulled a face, wondering where on earth Heidi had been attending parties. Never again would she have to deal with that kind of nonsense, Henry would make sure of that. "I may have to question your choice of events."

He smiled widely though, wrapping an arm around her. He was extremely glad that Heidi approved of everything as she'd always been very honest with her opinions, and he trusted her word more than most. It was strange, his girlfriend and brother did not get along at all, but Henry knew that they both would never balk at telling him the truth.

They certainly wouldn't balk at telling the truth about events including each other, either. She hadn't meant to remind Henry that he didn't need to fret, but it had seemed like the right thing to do.

"I think it was some snobby pureblood banquet in which someone's mother insisted that they all bring food they had 'completely cooked themselves' -- with the aid of magic, of course, but -- well, most of those women had never even set foot in the kitchen except to pilfer vodka out of the freezer." She chuckled, wrapping her arms briefly about his waist so she could look up at him.

"I should probably go back for a second plate of goodies, though. Since I'm eating for two now, and all." And because the food really was stellar, and now she had an excuse to occasionally stuff her face with it. "This fundraiser is definitely going to top all the others this year. Who would've known Halloween put people into a giving mood?"

Henry felt himself go dizzy for a moment at her 'eating for two' comment, but it was much better than the full blown panic attacks baby talks had been sending him in before. The idea was still quite terrifying and daunting, but at least it wasn't hitting him like a bludger to the head. It was more of a friendly shock of a reminder, and Henry was sure that when Heidi actually began to look pregnant, it was going to become easier to mentally accept.

Or even more terrifying, but they had a few months to go before all that went about.

His chest puffed up, "If our financial advisor's got his numbers straight, I'm pretty sure we've already topped them." Henry's grin was beginning to hurt his cheeks, and he pulled Heidi tighter to him, kissing the top of his head, "I'm so proud of everything."

As long as he doesn't mention to her that her looking pregnant might terrify him, because that's likely to put her into a fit of tears. She laughed quietly, bringing a hand up to tap a finger to his forehead. "You're going to get a big head over this, aren't you? Turn into your brother for a little while." Not that she thought that was a bad thing -- it was nice to see Henry boasting over what he did instead of just pretending that nobody noticed how well he was doing for himself.

"That's great, though. You know that they're going to want you to start planning another one right away, though. Maybe you should consider a career change from Quidditch agent to professional Charity organizer." She glanced at the dance floor and then flashed Henry a grin.

"I think that we should have a celebratory dance."

Sarah realized early on that going for a funny costume instead of a sexy one had not been the best of decisions. Not only was she dressed up like a man, she was dressed up like a muggle man that no one seemed to know. She'd been in England for nearly five years and she still wasn't used to the idea of how separate the muggle and wizarding world were. Back home, it wasn't so strange to be mingling with muggles all throughout your school days. She and Berk hadn't gone to some grand boarding school like Hogwarts; their school had been down the road from the local muggle high school and sometimes she felt like her brother hung out with those students more than the magical ones.

Sarah stood with her play cane in her hands, rocking slowly back and forth to the music and trying to keep her toes pointed out to try and stay in character in case there was someone who recognized her. She wasn't even sure if Brier did; he was very good at nodding and saying things to comply with her excitement. Where had her husband gone, anyway?

Drake!

Carys was having way too much fun fake-shooting people in the face. Her charmed arrows zipped through the crowd with ease, dissipating into sparkly glitter once it entered a ten inch radius of the person or thing. She had pretty good aim, too, and had been focusing on scaring (more like annoying) Kate Dagworth for the past ten minutes. Merlin, she should take up archery in real life.

It had been a rather entertaining time, shooting off arrows and talking nonsense with some friends she hadn't seen. Being off the pitch meant a lot of time at home and away from the usual crowd, but everyone seemed to be finding her quite quickly in the crowd. By now it was common knowledge that she and Drake had basically eloped, but she was pretty sure that it was still on the hush-hush that she was up the duff. Most people asked her about her head injury and how that was going, and some less tactful people mentioned that she'd put on some weight (why do you think Dagworth was a target?).

She thought her costume had hidden her slight bump, but after the third comment about hitting the gym, Carys felt defeated. She found Drake and leaned against the bar counter by his side, annoyed.

"I need to shoot someone for real." Her eyes scanned across the crowd, looking for her next victim.

Drake hated parties like this. It was stupid to have to go for publicity reasons. He'd rather be at home plotting pranks against erstwhile teenagers and handing out candy to the buildings' child occupants. He didn't mind dressing up, although Carys had pretty much insisted on the entirety of his outfit and Drake felt slightly naked. He did not mind being in the camera's eye or going running while shirtless, but being at a party in this outfit wasn't exactly something like that. He amused himself with his friends and watching Carys torture people with her glitter. Although Drake disapproved of her toying with or being mad about tabloid bullshit, he couldn't help the amusement that tickled him when she was genuinely being funny.

Once she was ready to rejoin his side, Drake had a butterbeer waiting for her as he sipped his own cup of cider (spiked, only a little, because anyone who was smarter than a pygmypuff would know that one simply needed a shot of rum to get through the evening without biting someone's head off). "Don't worry, you can charm the glitter to stick later and hit Dagworth for all she's got," Drake told her in his best soothing tone and turned to shield her from the rest of the room, his hand resting on her stomach protectively.

"Or maybe stick the arrow in her head," Carys said, sounding very much like a five-year-old who'd been sentenced to the corner for hitting her sister. Oh, what a fond memory. She frowned over the rim of her butterbeer glass as she took a long drink; it had been one of the few things during that she'd been able to stomach. If she wasn't a picky eater before, she was definitely a notorious one now. It wasn't as if she didn't want to eat, because she always felt hungry, but it felt like if it wasn't steak pizza from the tiny restaurant in Tutshill, she couldn't stomach it. What was this kid on, anyway?

Other than her weird eating behaviours (as her mood swings were pretty normal beforehand) and the no-fly zone she'd been struck with, Carys had done a pretty good job at not letting this pregnancy change her life. She wasn't constantly talking about the baby, and when the baby was due, and what the baby will be named, and who will he look like and all that new mother nonsense that she had no idea about. She and Drake had never been traditional, so why start now?

Except when he did little things like get all husband-like and try to relax her, and touch her gently, it made her head get all dizzy. Not in the bad way that she was used to, but in a new way that she was still getting used to. It was hard to accept that someone cared for her in the way she knew Drake did. Carys smirked up at him and poked the metal chest plate Drake begrudgingly wore.

"When was the last time you went trick or treating?" she mused, tilting her head as her finger traced the fake abs. Funny, she could just take this costume off and have her hands go over the real thing and that was much more entertaining.

Violet knew that it was cliche to dress herself up in a maid outfit, but -- well, sometimes she enjoyed attention from men, all right? She spent so much time at work trying to get people to take her seriously that she barely felt like she had time to breathe -- and it wasn't as if the costume was actually that revealing. She had the body of a hitwizard and she was going to show it off, damnit.

She tugged at one of the pigtails she was wearing and glanced around the room, wondering if she'd spot anyone that she knew. She was sure that Axe was going to be here, at least, and maybe another familiar face or two if she was lucky. She wandered over to the punch and picked up a glass full of the stuff, half-leaning over the cup to give it an experimental sniff. Well, it smelled all right...

"Now eh, you can't be a French maid without the accent," Charlie said, his Irish brogue coming out in full force because of his latest drink. He'd lost count as he'd been taking shots with every successful target Axe had hit.

His mask gave him a much needed night of anonymity. If he wasn't in the gym working out, he was at the bar, drinking in. Charlie's life had become quidditch and the pub, and while it was dizzying most days, at least tonight he was allowed to be a fool without anyone complaining too much about it.

"Go on, let me hear it," he took a swig of his own drink, pointing his glass at her, "I hang around a real life Frenchmen, I've got a good ear for this."

Aha, what was this? A very drunk gentleman, apparently -- and an Irish one, at that (unless he was the one very good at faking accents). She let one corner of her mouth quirk up into a smirk and lifted the feather duster she'd brought along from its little holster on her hip (it was actually her wand, modified for the evening).

"Is zat so?" She let the exaggerated accent that her mother had picked up from all of the other snobbish housewives slide past her lips easily, "then you are in luck, because I am a real life Frenchwoman!" There were many Frenchmen even just in London and the rest of Europe -- no need to assume that he knew any of her friends. It was nice to know that very few people here would actually recognize her -- it helped her relax, which was sometimes a ... problem.

"Have I convinced you that I am the genuine article?" She crossed her arms over her chest, aware of the effect the action would have on her admittedly modest bosom. "Or does the gentleman require further demonstration?" Merlin, she knew she sounded foolish, but it wasn't as if anyone else was in the area to hear...

Oh. So she was French. Charlie had not been expecting that, and he slowly grinned at her questions. Well, well then. He'd had his Irish girls, his British, Welsh, and Scottish. German too, could now be checked off the list. If he continued at this current rate, he'd have all of Europe covered by new year.

"I am deeply impressed by your accent," and assests. Charlie shifted to a more comfortable position on the bar and waved his drink at her, "Though further demonstration could really make my night."

What was the point in being subtle? She was the one that was perking up her breasts and wearing that skimpy outfit to begin with. Charlie would avoid the obvious quip of being taught how to French kiss and stop wasting time. Of course, maybe her form of demonstration was to recite the French national anthem and some other boring shit, but when a girl was walking around looking like that, Charlie figured she wasn't too keen on talking.

"What've you got?"

Apparently he was going to play along, at least for a little -- brilliant. With how often her mother was going off at her about not having a proper husband 'at her age' (as if her mother could really consider her an old hag or something, really) she was just itching to do something at least partially ridiculous or irresponsible.

"Further demonstration? Oh, but that is not for the public eye..." she smirked, not at all bothered by his forwardness. If she hadn't been out fishing for this exact thing, perhaps she would've been reacting differently -- but it wasn't as if he was trying to molest her straight-away, and she was fairly certain that with how sober she was he couldn't be accused of taking advantage of her.

"I suppose I could show you, though, being as you are such a handsome and festive gentleman."

Adamina darling!

Tim was excited, he couldn't even try to hide it. He'd been working with the Flints for a long time, sure, and now Adamina was practically one of their family, but to be in this big swirl of quidditch players whose statistics he memorized and whose on the pitch decisions he cursed at through the wireless...Merlin's beard, that was exciting.

He was also excited that he got to dress up, as Tim had always enjoyed Halloween. He'd always tried to go as one of his favorite cartoon characters from when he was younger, from when he would watch the early morning shows with his father. It brought back fond memories and just added to his happiness.

It also helped that his wife looked ridiculously hot and beautiful tonight. Not that she didn't every night, but it wasn't every night that Adamina dolled herself up to look as glamorous and alluring as she was.

His hands slunk around her waist, pulling his wife a bit obscenely too close, "It's official, you are once again the most beautiful woman in the room."

She made a valiant effort not to literally puff her feathers up in vain pride. It may have been a considerable amount of time since she had the opportunity to go the extra mile, but… she still knew how to do it. She probably should have gone as a peacock. Her lips curled as she though what her most excellent friend, Narcissa Malfoy, might say about that. Oh, she hoped they weren't here. There was only so much nostalgia she could have for her youth. Adamina instead focused on being here with her handsome husband in his very Muggle costume, which her research had led her to believe stemmed from something similar to her beloved comics. Not Batman, or even Superman, but she got the tingles anyway.

She tried to press her forehead to his, giggling when his costume impeded the movement. "It's a good thing my mask is one to hold and not strapped to my face." She put it in place and repeated the action, only to have the beak smack against the visor, now leaving even more inches between them.

This was so nice! Adamina could count on her hands the number of times she and Tim had really gone out not only after Astoria was born, but after Daphne. There was never the need, or more, never the desire. They were busy people with jobs that had other people depending on them; at the end of the day, what did they really want but quiet and each other? Or, she amended four years and two children later, family and its quiet chaos. Four years. Two children. The words gave her equal parts thrill and panic.

"Estella is brilliant and kind," she sighed, lowering her mask and tucking her hands around Tim's neck. "I feel guilty, though, being so happy and not guilty that we don't have the girls tonight, though."

"I assure you," Tim said, flipping up his visor so that he could actually kiss his wife, "Our daughters have been primped and pampered enough in their two short lives to last them well into their Hogwarts years."

He was the first one to question any plan making, with doubts about babysitters or if Daphne would be able to get to sleep without her usual bed time story. Astoria was still so young which made it harder to part from the girls, but Tim had always liked Halloween and this seemed to be the perfect night to put those worries behind them. His mother would take care of the girls, and he and Adamina would be able to spend the night together, holding hands, kissing, snogging in random corners like Hogwarts students...at least, Tim hoped they could get a bit of snogging action in.

Don't get him wrong, there was plenty of snogging and more done at home (two kids in four years, you do the math), but those kind of activities in the privacy of your home often felt like amateur stuff when there were hundreds of people around. Not that his mind was only on snogging, no, no. Tonight was about having a lot of fun! Dressing up, dancing, kissing his wife when the quidditch blokes gave her a look-over just to show them what's what.

Tim's grip around her made it easy for him to spin them around a bit, his feet awkwardly moving as they were just too tight to make any proper dance steps, "No kids, no worries. What would milady like to do now?"

Of all the events he had been forced into attending, this was certainly the best of them. This Cupid (or Eros, as he suggestively corrected to inquiring women) idea was proving to be quite brilliant. And, Axe smugly thought, there were few men with the physique of confidence to pull off a minute toga and wings. But given the number of times his arse had been pinched, grabbed, or squeezed (thank you, Carys Llewellyn), he was taking it to mean he had both. In spades. Ladies.

And only part of it was due to him being able to shoot arrows at people all night. Arrows dipped in a mild love potion. Causing mass confusion the number of times he'd chosen to deploy the real arrows. All right, most of his pleasure in being here derived from shooting people. Carys and he obsessing over the Arrows' spell had certainly paid off. Even if the Kestrel manager had huffily noted that Axe's aim needed some work, which he naturally agreed with. It had been horrifically embarrassing, watching the IAQ chairwizard go tearing after that poor fledgling reporter gal, right in front of his own wife.

Just dreadful.

He scanned the crowd, crowing quietly to himself as Dimitrov stepped into his view. Le con had instigated a brawl with him on the field, for which Axe had been called on. Management and the IAQ had not been pleased, he remembered, cocking his arrow to just the right angle before letting it sail. Going, going, and… success! He smirked to himself when he saw Dimitrov flinch at the pin-prick to his shoulder blade and the ensuing madness.

Sighing with contentment, he turned to his side in a rare moment of joviality. "I just love Halloween, don't y—" he paused and his smirk grew. "Healer Bonaccord."

She'd been parting the crowd all night. Therese had decided that she was going to ignore all things French and pay a bit more attention to her mother's side of the family, and had donned a costume to make any Irish woman even greener with envy. Cliodna, the first suspected animagus, was not only a brilliant witch, but in the Celtic culture, also the goddess of beauty. Wizards believed she could turn into a sea bird, while muggles said she took form of the waves crashing against the beach.

Therese's gown was appropriate for the medieval ages, the top half being white that slowly morphed into a sea green, the hem of the dress curling like the waves of the ocean, its color changing with each step. Her hair was curled, with streaks of thin black and white feathers mingled in between. She felt as powerful as the ancient witch and was glad for the feeling; it had been a pathetic past few weeks for the witch. Therese turned towards the voice, the bird that she had conjured to float about landed prettily on her shoulder after being scared away by Rupert's arrow.

She'd dismissed the man from his therapy sessions to avoid getting fired for her misconduct, but from the latest news of a tussle with Dimitrov (whom Rupert was currently attacking with arrows), Therese felt her instincts take alarm.

"Do you really think that's the brightest of ideas?" she said, her eyebrows rising. Her make up was light and delicate, focusing on colors that would make her eyes seem even brighter than usual.

Ignoring the comment for the moment, he circled her in a manner that was not altogether lascivious, nor unlike a predatory stalk. "Well, well," he mused. "Of course, you do nothing by halves." She did seem the fastidious sort. It was amusing to him that the both times he'd seen her, a witch who gave the impression of utter poise to within an inch of her life, were at moments where she seemed just the opposite. Perhaps unfoundedly so, Axe believed this gave him a view of her character not many people happened upon. That was the sort of information he enjoyed possessing, as one never knew how it might be spun in their favor. Tonight, however, she was in her full possession of self, and regal with it.

"And this," he rattled the quiver strapped to his back and gestured with the bow, "is not only a bright but a brilliant idea." Stepping close to her side, he leaned into her ear and asked, "Anyone you want me to shoot for you, chère?" His smile was guileless, but for the hidden smirk which crinkled the skin around his eyes.

Therese was very good at getting the once-over. Some girls grew offended by the casual leering some men placed upon them, but if you were getting a look, that meant you'd gone out and prepared wanting to get a look. Therse had no problems with men's eyes, it was their hands that were not allowed to rake themselves over her body. So she stood, chin up with a slight smirk on her face as Rupert came around her. He'd already seen her at her worse, why deny him at what could be considered her best?

A light flutter of her eyes was all she gave in response, her eyes continuing to focus on Dimitrov and the poor soul that he had been thrust upon. The man was a beast in that fashion on his own, who knew what kind of trouble these little arrows would cause. Hopefully whoever ended up being his target was quick, or threw a mighty punch.

Her eyes scanned over Rupert's bow and her lips pursed in thought. She really, really shouldn't. She had clients here, there could be pictures taken of her choosing Rupert's next victim. It would be really terrible to ruin someone's night this way. Therese felt the Slytherin rage up inside of her, urged on by her inner Celtic goddess. Her hand went out casually, one finger going to Rupert's chin to point him in the right direction.

"McCormack," she said simply. That bloke needed some excitement, even if he was superficial and brought on maliciously by his sworn enemy. Therse's smirk grew and she tossed her hair.

Axe, too, watched the delightfully unpalatable scene unfold, gleeful when a goblet of pumpkin juice was thrown in Dimitrov's face, the object of his crazed affection storming out of the room. Of course, he considered his behavior that night as being on his very best. Certainly, there was trouble and misbehaving, but it wasn't him doing it… only that he lent a bit of a helping hand, really. And over the course of the evening, he'd only shot six of the love-tipped arrows, a little treat for himself for every pleasant conversation he suffered through without a barb, every reporter-fielded question without a punch, every half hour that passed without him wanting to wrap the laurel wreath around his neck and pull very hard, and so on.

"Music to my ears." His mouth quirked up automatically at her response, having half-expected Therese to lecture then quite possibly drag him off by the ear to the nearest disciplinarian. Not that he couldn't find half of that scenario intriguing, but having just been given the go ahead to turn Thomas McCormack, asshole extraordinaire, into a lovesick goon for the rest of the night from his therapist, Axe was perfectly pleased with the answer. He deeply wished the man's ex-fiancée was present tonight, but she'd somehow announced her disinterest with the sport after finding her name struck off several invite lists of the bigger events of the season…

"Better hope you're not in his line of sight, mon chou, or that's another patient you'll need transferred," he said tongue-in-cheek as he nocked the arrow and aimed, pulling the bowstring back just as McCormack stepped right into his path and firing, watching his handiwork sail through the crowd to meet its target.

"I only removed myself from your case because allowed myself to behave inappropriately in front of you," she said quickly, though it was more out of embarrassment and the risk of Rupert using it against her. Therese would rather lose one of her star clients than be pulled through the ringer by her supervisors, or even worse, the tabloids. She had seen how the rags could ruin people's lives, and she had no desire to simply give them the ammo they so desired. "There was nothing sexual about my decision."

She felt her ears burn immediately; sometimes Therese wondered why it was so hard for her to turn off her clinical tone once it was turned on. Instead of blanching at her words like her body had been struck to do, she kept her eyes solidly on McCormack. Therese watched as a lovestruck gaze lit up his face, but then he disappeared into the crowd. If she was a good therapist (though choosing her patient as one of Rupert's victims was probably not a very good thing to do), she would watch to see what inner most desires were brought out of him, but Therese decided that the man was in need of some random romance.

Therese turned back to Rupert with a nod of approval. Her brows furrowed however, "Did you get lost in your arrow-shooting fun? I would not have expected you to stay around this long."

Maybe he was babysitting his team mates, because Merlin knew they needed the help.

Theo tried his best to keep the scowl off his face as stood alone next to the punch table, which was rather difficult as he was dress in a costume of all things. This event was by far the most ridiculous event he has ever attended but yet here he was. All because Holly asked him to attend.

Well she told him about the event, that she would be there, and wasn't it a shame she didn't have an escort. Which practically was a written invitation by their normal standards. The things he did for this woman, and if he was less of a stubborn bastard, he'd admit to himself why he was doing all this.

He grabbed two glasses of wine from a passing waiter and made his way over to 'rescue' Holly from some other man he could only assume was another Quidditch player. Whether she realized she needed it or not. "I do hope you aren't having to much fun over here without me." he said dryly handing her one of the glasses, lips quirked into an almost smile.

The Queen had to make her own entrance, isn't that right? Holly had expected Theo to be in attendance, but with her costume and the magical touches that had been put on it, she really did not want to share any bit of spotlight. Having a man on your arm seemed to do that, and tonight she needed to revel in her own glory.

Holly's eyes slowly lifted up from the glass to meet Theo, and she did not reach out for it initially. She had to take in his costume and summon an approval from her before she could accept him as her date. Oh, they played and played this game over and over, but tonight she was dressed like royalty, and Holly already knew that it was going to be just a bit more difficult for Theo to please her.

"What are you supposed to be?" she inquired, her eyes scanning him over. It was a much different look than she was used to, for Theo. He was always so pressed and perfect; now he looked rugged and...even a bit dirty. Holly's expression stayed neutral, but the completely different look of his made her heart race. Her hands stayed by her side, not accepting the drink just yet.

It was probably a bit ridiculous for Theodore to hope that she wouldn't bring up his costume. He had paid the Au Pair to pick something up while she was out running the other household errands. And this is what he got stuck with. He would of fired her if she didn't practically run the house.

It did look dirty and american and it made him itch just thinking about it. But it was what he had and the au pair promised he wouldn't look out of place at a Halloween party.

"I believe the term is an 'American Outlaw'. Had I known that I'd be in the presence of Royalty, I would have reconsidered." He took a sip of his wine, waiting for Holly to take her glass. "Although, a Queen is always in need of someone to do their dirty work."

That was a very good answer. A sly smile slid onto Holly's face; Theo always had very good answers and she was finding it harder and harder to play...well, hard to get. That had been the best part at the beginning of their relationship, seeing how far she could stretch his patience or vice versa before one of them snapped. Those games were fun and they often led to very exhilarating rewards when they finally gave in. Lately, however, when Holly wasn't dressed up as royalty, she wanted nothing more than to just curl up beside him and spend an evening just being...ugh, normal.

Normal. Holly Troy didn't do normal. Why was this man making her want to do normal things? Like...go to the park. Or...make pancakes. Pancakes, for Merlin's sake! For his child, no less. Holly could barely stay on the pitch when Willow brought her kids around, and now she was actually thinking about what to buy Theodore for Christmas! Things were going seriously astray.

"That's very true," Holly finally answered, taking the glass from his hands. Instead of taking a drink, however, she put the drink on a passing waiter's tray and slunk up close to Theo. She blinked slowly, her grin becoming a wicked one as her hands moved up his dress, "Tell me, what kind of dirty work?"

Mira?

Seth couldn't stop grinning the entire night. He would say couldn't believe how successful this entire event turned out to be, but that would insulting to Henry.

When Mira suggested he dress up as another Quidditch player, Seth thought it was perfect. After all part of his goal was to bring players together with a common goal, so why not. It was strange running around in his old Puddlemere jersey, but hey, might as well honor his roots while he was at it. Seth just hoped his former Captain would take it as a complement and not be tempted to punch him in the face.

He disentangled himself from yet another conversation about W.Q.W and set off to find his girlfriend. He knew that people would want to talk to him but so far he had barely ten minutes alone with Mira. "There you are beautiful." He said kissing her on the cheek and wrapping his arms around her waist. "Are you enjoying the party?"

Well now she was. As much as Mira enjoyed catching up with and creating new Quidditch-related friends, Seth was the reason why she was here. Both literally and metaphorically, to speak. So when he had the time to break away from his hosting/supporting duties, she welcomed it greatly.

Actually, she was quite impressed with herself for how... fine she was with him running around for most of the night-- basically from her. Was this growth? Perhaps just understanding that raising awareness and money for children was a bit more important than her boyfriend giving her constant attention in public. Either way, she was more than able to make up for it in their short, spurt like-meetings.

"It's wonderful," she cooed, wasting no time in slinking her arms around Seth's neck. Pushing herself closer to him, Mira enjoyed the warmness from their close proximity. She smiled, and moved her hands to hold the sides of his face somewhat firmly. "But are you enjoying it?" she asked suddenly, changing her tone to a more serious one. It was important that he thought it was going well.

"These things are always much more fun when you aren't the person everyone wants to talk to." Seth said honestly, swaying to the music playing. "Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that its going well. Much better than I ever expected, I'd just rather spend my time with you."

It was time consuming, talking to all the potential investors and other players. And exhausting, Seth had to be on his best behavior and practically kiss ass to make sure not to offend anyone.

Seth had spent what he felt was an appropriate amount of time posing for the cameras, and with guests. He dipped down kissing her softly. "Thank you so much for being so understanding, I'm yours for the rest of the night."

Mira loosened her grip on Seth's face, deciding his answer was sufficient enough for her liking. He hadn't needed to throw in the part about her... not that it wasn't well-received. Just that tonight wasn't about her. Well, a little part of it was--- but not really. Mira knew she had to stand and look pretty (she would be lying if that thought hadn't crossed her mind when deciding this year's halloween costume), and she had no problem doing it.

Her hands slipped to rest behind Seth's neck as she let him talk, enjoying the current song that was playing. For a couple, they sure did find themselves in enough opportunities that included large populations of people and dancing. Good or bad? Hm... Seth pulled Mira back from her thoughts as he kissed her cheek.

"You're sweet," she smiled, truly finding his faithfulness endearing and comforting. A part of her wanted to say that he didn't have to do that... but somehow the words never made it out of her lips. Instead, Mira forced back her lips onto his and smiled.

"The whole night?" she feigned mock shock. "Hmm, now what to do with all this time?"

Sweet. Seth couldn't help but grin brightly at that. He certainly has come a long way to be called sweet and have it be sincere. He certainly never would of thought he would be where he was now two years ago.

"I'm sure you'll think of something, I may have a suggestion or two." he said twirling her out and back in again. And as much as he has grown over the past year, he was still having trouble behaving with Mira in her costume.

A mischievous smirk played on his lips as he dipped her at the end of the song, then used the momentum to scoop her up in his arms. "Have I told you yet, how much I love your costume?" He could help but tug at the stocking.

Odette sighed, dropping both her hands to her sides. While this party was rather impressive (especially coming from Seth), nothing seemed to spark her just enough to enjoy herself. Which was actually somewhat sad, because there was a very extensive food and drink bar she had forced herself to walk by multiple times in hopes of finding something worth the calories. But, alas. It seemed her longing for a certain astrologer turned teacher's presence was getting the best of her.

Touching her touched her mask that she had put on just to appease Seth, Odette adjusted it to uncover her eyes. At least she knew Terry and Anna had enjoyed the night. Luckily they were still young enough that their Halloween ended well by eight and included Odette carrying Anna (who had been the cutest cupcake she had ever seen), and Terry tiring out early enough to also want to be carried. Her parents were at the house with them now until she returned....

How much longer until it was socially acceptable to leave? She glanced down at her watch. Too long. Letting another sigh pass through her lips, Odette lazily turned to continue to wander around the room until she ran into someone she knew.

It was a good thing that Noah was an excellent secret-keeper. With some help from Drystan, he had procured the proper time, location, and ticket (and he'd even found out what Odette would be wearing, somehow--) for this event without raising any suspicion. Even with Wadcock acting like a normal human being, Noah had not wanted to risk having his name on the guest list and then have Seth casually mention it to Odette. Noah rarely got to surprise his wife with anything, and hopefully he was enough of a surprise for her tonight.

Hogwarts had been an amazing experience. Noah wouldn't deny the nerves he had before going, which Odette had all but slapped out of him. His main concerns were that his students were not going to take him seriously enough to learn, or even want to learn, but he found that the younger students were still scared enough of authority to listen to his every word, and the older students were in the class because they wanted to be. He even had a few students who lingered afterward, or during his study sessions. Noah actually felt like he was making a difference at the school.

But it did have its downsides. He missed Odette terribly, and it was really heartbreaking to think about not seeing their children for weeks on end. He made sure to send treats and gifts and letters to Terry and Anna, but he deeply wished for more time with the kids. Tonight however was for Odette, and Noah hoped he could make her night a memorable one. He watched her walk around aimlessly for a bit, knowing she would be plotting her escape soon. Now he had to act.

With a swiftness he'd redeveloped at Hogwarts, Noah managed to quickly make his way through the crowd without so much as a shoulder bump. He felt like a different man, a professional, a mysterious figure and he would allow himself to play this out. He came up to Odette's side a smirk of great pleasure on his lips,

"My, my, you're looking lovely tonight, MacFarlan," Noah said into her ear, his eyes casting out to the party, "So why the long face?"

If her heart hadn't been pumping properly before, it certainly was now. No matter how smoothly he could have approached her, Odette still would have leaped (though later there would be complete denial of it) in her skin at her husband's sudden close proximity. She just hadn't been expecting someone to lean over in her ear after spending most of the night alone, especially not Noah of all---

Wait.

Reeling, Odette turned and unclenched at the same time. It only took a few seconds for her to recognize his face under the mask. But-- what was he--- as swiftly as the questions sprouted, she pushed them aside; she could really care less. The fact that he was here and it had felt like so long when it really hadn't been and---

She had never really been the kind of person to enjoy surprises-- Odette had always much rather known what was going on than be in the dark, but somehow she did not feel that way now. In fact, she actually felt like she was about to cry. But in a good way. And it was silly, because there was no reason why, but once she was able to get over the shock, she felt her face heat up and her eyes bulge.

"Noah!" Odette blurted, not even attempting to control herself. He was here! Her superbly intelligent, professor by day astrologer by night of a husband had come all the way over-- she would be visibly upset about him leaving school later and simply be secretly pleased instead. Ah!

An awkwardly huge smile formed on her face, and Odette quickly jumped to Noah to burying herself into him. Familiar smells (and taste-- mmm) engulfed her, and she signed contently.

Delilah was glad that she decided to come to this party. She was twirled the skirt on herdress every opportunity she got.

Delilah had to hand it to Henry, he certainly knew how to throw a party. Seth's name may be on the invitation but she knew who was really in charge. She'd have to track him down later and congratulate him. She sipped her champagne as she scanned the crowd, wondering idly what her brother decided to dress up as and where he was, and if she should bother trying to find him to say hello.

Well, she could find him another time, she thought, as her gaze landed on her date. Delilah grinned and skipped over to join him. "Would you care to dance?" she asked as she linked her arm in his. "I know its not nearly as fun as the trick or treating was, but we can make do."
