Waiting for the end to come, wishing I had strength to stand
[Chase couldn't remember the last time he had hurt this much properly, perhaps the last blow to the head by whatever that creature was had given him a concussion. It was the last thing he needed on top of two broken ribs and collarbone, the cuts all over his sprained (if not fractured) forearms leaving a clear trail of where he had been. Hopefully it wouldn't lead that thing toward his current location, his left leg was in no condition to run being practically torn apart like it was and leaving more blood.

Oh, yes. He probably was concussed, blood from a head injury he hadn't felt started to cloud his vision in his left eye. Chase lifted an arm to wipe it away and his balance overshot itself, he started leaning toward the wall and hit it hard enough with his shoulder to draw a grunt of pain from him. Luckily there was a bench there when his leg gave out though it hurt to sit, and he couldn't sit long. Chase had to get to the infirmary, had to get bandaged up to get Seren from daycare. But thoughts of Seren brought that young Kanda to mind.

Sorrow and failure blinded him from his physical pain for a moment, he had to go back in or send (several) someone(s) in his place to find the boy. He couldn't stay in that darkened, death-trap of a hallway and certainly not by himself!]

Damn it... [His head lightly hits the wall, throat sore from yelling.]

	[He looks Chase over one more time, checking for the spots that seem the most damaged, before he bends down to press a kiss to the Crow's forehead. [Chase closes his eyes at the light kiss, shifting in the smallest ways possible closer to the other side of the bed. He can't turn on his side to face Allen like he wants but he leans his head against the other's as much as he can, squeezing Allen's hand lightly within his own. There are a few muted rises of pain but the morphine seems to quickly kick in in those places and calms everything down again.]

[Allen, meanwhile, is on his side so that he can take up as little room as possible - and Chase will end up resting his head against Allen's forehead for now, just as Allen hums softly. He brushes his thumb over Chase's fingers, the hum slowly morphing into the lullaby he'd written for Seren, trying to ease some of the pain while the morphine does it's magic.]</small>

	[The song, the touches, having Allen so close and filling his senses... It's probably the best way to get the Crow off to sleep in a situation like this. [He won't leave right away after Chase falls asleep - just when he has to, when he knows it would be unwise to leave Seren at the daycare for much longer. He pulls away carefully, leaving a light kiss against Chase's forehead one more time, and continues to hum the lullaby as he quietly slips from the room.

He'll be back, though. Just going to make sure Seren's somewhere safe for now.]</small>

	[Having Allen near helps him settle into a deeper sleep faster even with the medicine helping, though he still makes a soft noise at Allen's good-bye kiss. 	[That nice nurse put a privacy screen around Chase's bed as well, figuring he might be back at some point anyway. Chase was appreciative of it when he was woken to get some food in him, keeps the eyes of everyone else off of him. He's asleep again when Allen comes back though not as deeply so. [Sob. Allen wouldn't be able to help him kick it, unfortunately. Not when painkillers are his own drug of choice - though they do the opposite for him, make it so much easier to disconnect and to not care. It's part of why he never really realized he was unhappy in his own world. That kiss might be getting his jaw, though.] Then don't move too much. [Something in his chest tightens up at those words, and Allen makes a little, choked sound, nodding his head slightly.]

[Look out, DR. It's another House. Complete with limp and cane but a legit reason. No, Chase will probably be off of them as soon as he can find himself managing the pain without them, drugs are not his preferred method. But the Crow would prefer Allen not cut himself off with them as well. He mumbles that he won't and noses at him a little bit more, especially at that choked sound.]

Well, 'm no' movin now. [Smiles softly]

[Sobsob. dnw that happening to Chase. It's good that he drugs aren't his thing though, don't need both of them on them at once. It wouldn't be total cut off! Just... assistance in coping.] Good. Don't move again for awhile. [No more than he already is, at least. Brb - shifting slightly closer, enough that Chase can feel what little warmth he has to offer (though it might just be pushing his own warmth back at him like that) and wrapping an arm low around Chase's waist, in a spot that he's certain wasn't injured.]

[If he has to take anything Chase prefers an herbal kind, something that's more familiar. New age medicine kind of scares him. That's what he's got Chase for~ Chase wants to put his other arm around Allen, lay on his side and keep him close but he can't and it's frustrating. Warmth isn't really an issue, they've got him under enough blankets that he's warm and then some.] Ya ken get under tha blankets if'n ya want, Allen. 's warmer.

[Seeing how addicted Allen is probably wouldn't help that fear at all, Chase never saw the worst of it, did he? Nosing at him at the frustrated sound, though. It's okay. He's not going anywhere, will stay as close as he can right now.] Don't think they'll yell at me? [Throughout this whole thing, Allen has talked to the staff as little as he could possibly manage. Hates places like this, really, and he doesn't really want to be yelled at.]

[It wouldn't, but like with everything else that's happened between them Chase wouldn't force him to give it up. It's just one of those things about him, forcing someone he loves to do something that will make them unhappy isn't worth it. Even if he knows Allen will be better for it.] If'n they do, 'll yell back a'em. [He'll protect Allen from them, at least he goes in unlike Vampvi, so paranoid they'd want to do experiments on them that he avoided them.]

[He's a bit weaker in that regard than Lavi, huh? If he got back on them, it seems like Lavi'd be intent on getting him off of them again. Allen avoided them too at first though, but the need for blood bags lately has made him give that up, to a certain extent.

Allen glances back at the separator around the bed, before shifting a little bit on it; he kicks his shoes off so that they lands on the ground with a thud, and carefully crawls under the covers, putting his arm back around that spot on Chase's waist as he tucks in close again.]

[Just that he was forced to do so many things and he always hated it that Chase never saw a point in forcing anyone else old enough to make decisions for themselves do something they didn't want. If you're going to be stupid, you'd better be prepared to get hurt. Those decisions were lessons and it was up to them if they took the lessons as the way they were supposed to.

Chase noses at his temple once more and closes his eyes with a satisfied if shallow and pained sigh.]

[Chase is too nice. But Allen would probably need someone if it got to that point.

Tilting his head enough that he catches Chase in a brief, chaste kiss, and when he pulls away it's only enough so that their lips brush together as he talks.] Want to. [And he settles his head down, closing his own eyes. He'd stay until it got too painful for Chase to have him there.]
