RANT RANT RANT
So, last week I got the notice about my phone interview for food stamps. It was supposed to be food stamps and MSP (Medicare Savings Program, and without it I couldn't afford my freakin' meds), but it said food stamps and TANF (and I don't qualify for TANF) on the form. So I called in right away, and the person I talked to said they'd make a note of it in my file and to just tell the person when I had my phone interview.

So, this morning was my phone interviewer. The interviewer had a thick accent I had a lot of trouble deciphering, and when I told him I was having difficulty, he said "I can understand you".

...it really pissed me off. It didn't help that he had me on speakerphone.

And he didn't know a damn thing about MSP, and was no help when I tried to ask about it.

The interview, as usual, was just me repeating what I'd written on the application I mailed in.

And after all that? I am going to get the same $10 a month food stamps I've gotten for five years. No cost-of-living adjustment at all.

I'll probably call 211 tomorrow (or this afternoon if I calm down enough) about MSP, because it's really important.
