Happy Birthday Foxy (blood-free version)
Tonight was a strictly non-business night. And he was for all intents and purposes going to pretend this was March 20th and not...over a month later. So while he may be dressed in an all black suit and shirt with a red tie and a classic domino mask that was just Robin enough for her to see it, but not enough for a too obvious connection for anyone else, he was certainly not really "Robin". That would mean there was some aspect of the crimefighting in there. And tonight that was off the table. This was about as close as to the real him as he could get, that odd mix between Thomas and Robin that never appeared if he was worried about fighting crime or people not finding out he was Robin.

About a week ago he'd broken into one of her safehouses and left a note about the party they were going to hijack for her birthday.

Because if you were going to crash a party discretely you had to do it with style.

And for the two of them? That meant a masquerade party was the way to go.

"That one's real. The pendant on that other lady is actually serpentine." Maybe a bat really shouldn't know that much about telling real and fake jewelry apart, but it wasn't like he was expected not to know anything about it. He just happened to have had a very thorough education in the subject.

The hand on her back might be holding her closer than most people seemed to be dancing but he doesn't seem to notice. "What's your specialty Foxy?" He'll stick with Farsi because he needs the practice and, more importantly, because she likes it.

"Hmmm. Good eye. I thought it was," she admits. Honestly him being able to tell that kind of thing isn't weird to her at all.

"Sapphires are the easiest for me to judge," she admits. "Diamonds follow up closely followed by pearls. You need to be careful with pearls."

She doesn't care that they happen to be closer than other people right now. Even through the fabric of her dress that feels pleasant.

"Sapphires? Because you like them or more practical reasons?" He'd admit that jades were only a specialty of his because his mother had liked them. Diamonds too for that reason. And it was so much easier to learn about them when she'd pull out her jewelry as examples to compare to. But that also meant he wasn't so good with pearls. It was an unwritten rule in the manor that unless it was for a mission, people didn't wear or talk about pearls.

Dancing did give them an excuse to be this close, and he was quite glad that he actually knew how to dance. He really wouldn't have this opportunity to be near her otherwise.

	He seems quite pleased at that, more time holding onto her. "After the next song then? We'll get drinks and some food."
