	the number of people who even do it unsuccessfully let alone successfully is tiny. most actors who try to cross over into music like zooey deschanel or taylor momsen get ridiculed and derided and aren't successful, and the same for musicians who try to become actors. think madonna and mariah carey. 	the old-school divas like dolly parton and cher are the only ones i can think of who've done it successfully, and even then both of them always focused more on their music. the disney girls are another example, but once the mouse has chewed them up and spit them out they seem to choose one or the other, like demi deciding to focus on music and miley on acting. 	yeah i like the comm overall but some of the credits are insane and it seems like the more recent adds have brought in some particularly egregious offenders (Reply to this)(Parent)

	admittedly, my girl is doing both but her film/tv roles (there were collectively only 2, actually) were extremely small and she would much, much, much rather do music so her music career is far larger than anything else in her life. but i hope that seems realistic enough. her acting career isn't huge by any means. 	if it's like shelkey's career where she did acting as a little girl and has shifted to music with only one film role, then i think that's probably realistic but there are some people who are giving their characters multiple critically/commercially successful albums plus a large role in one or two movies a year which just seems unrealistic to me (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	no, it's not, but i still think my girl's career is realistic. her roles in film and television have not been large, sans one coming out later this year which was filmed far before when she decided she wanted to just do music over film. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	OH i thought you were saying that was the only way it could be correct, forgive me. i got slightly offended by reading it wrong, so i apologize. but yeah, there's definitely a preference over the other. she just started with acting two years before she got into doing music, and that's her honest choice over the other.
