the thing is most actor/musicians make their band or films small side projects and take out time for both. one year they might play shows, the next they'll work on a film. you can't do everything at once, which is what a lot of people try to do. their bands are small things nobody has ever heard of outside of their fanbase. look at things like jason schwartzman/coconut records and jena malone's band.

or it's like jackson rathbone with his band. he's neither a huge actor nor a huge musician, and tbh at this point that's how jared leto operates. it's also how taylor momsen does things (her role on gg is virtually nonexistent now and her band is mostly ignored/ridiculed) and zooey deschanel (she doesn't act nearly as much anymore since her music career started).

jackson rathbone is probably about as good as it's going to get if you want to juggle music/acting. b-list actor, small music project. and if you are who i think you are i love your guy!

i agree with this. my guy is in a band that is popular on some level, but he spends most of his year filming. when he is filming though, his band goes with him and they write/record/whateverelse at the same time.
