i hope you know i wasn't serious up there.
i tried to make my sarcasm clear.
i know you were busy.
it's okay. :)

1. I have a new favorite band almost every day. I'm not a music snob nor do i listen to a specific genre. I listen to whatever fits the moment right. I listened to Modest Mouse all day today. The Fruit That Ate Itself was the main album in particular. But truthfully I probably listened to the song "bury me with it" almost 20 times today.
Tomorrow will be a new band I'm sure. I don't have a favorite. I love everything for what it means to me. I still love the backstreet boys because of the memories. I love bright eyes because it reminds me of megan, and i love anything that reminds me of her laugh. i love rage against the machine because of their courage, and their views. i love ladytron because it reminds me of driving too fast with my boyfriend when we were young and dumb. the pixies are one of my favorite bands because they will forever remind me of october, and october is my favorite time of year... and because the pixies are amazing...
i could never narrow it down to one. know what i mean?

2. i answered that up there.

3. I haven't. Are they good?

4. I don't know. Probably. I never could pay attention in History. I remember learning about Jamestown in 5th grade, so I'm sure its still being taught.

5. I picture a small amount of deciduous trees, hot sun, dustyness, the color dirt and grass turn when they're really dry, small cities, and farms. I bet theres a wide variety of personalities, but nothing compared to up here.

6. I never really cared about Obama until recently actually. I read the most recent Rolling Stone interview and I got a really good vibe. I'm not a very political person and I don't care as much as I should about his personal beliefs and goals as I do about what he's like as a person. I've read a lot of interviews and seen him speak, and I don't agree with a lot of things he says, but I enjoy him as a person and i really do trust him. I feel like he's a good man with a lot of enthusiasm for change. I'm down.

7. I do, actually. I like smooth jazz. There was a really good station up here but the ratings weren't good enough so it changed to some classic rock station like everything else just a few weeks ago. Huge bummer.

8. Hellifiknow. I can tell you that "hey" by the pixies brings me to tears. But it would never bring you the same emotion.
I really like Perfect Disguise by modest mouse because it reminds me so much of lake oswego, and a certain person I know that lives here.
you know, modest mouse's song "missed the boat" is one of the best songs i know of because of what it's about. i really respect them for writing it. its about them selling out, and how much they regret it. it's almost an apology, but its mostly them saying how much they wish they could go back. it also kind of disses on the fans in the beginning too which i think takes some courage hahaha. i love the words of it. once you understand what he's saying, you can really feel it. it's pretty funny that the song is such a hit too with all of his "new" fans. most of them think it's a love story. i could go on an on about my number one songs...but i think you'd fall asleep.
i think "the greatest song of all time" is a personal opinion and i could never tell you what it is. do you have one?

9. tuesdays with morrie, and the perks of being a wallflower.
tuesdays with morrie is really deep meaningful. i got really in to philosophy after reading that.
and i love the way The Perks is written. I love his tone, his emotion... everything. I've read it 8 times and I never plan on stopping. It puts me in a deep, intrapersonal mood.

hablas espanol?

Si, hablo espanol. que pasa en su casa?

Grits are amazing. Their kind of like cream of wheat but not a thick. Every time i order them at Waffle House, Megan makes jokes about how they look like throw up. Not cool. :(

I was just curious about the whole Jamestown thing. I know they don't teach it New Jersey, my pen pal Aryana has never heard of Jamestown or Williamsburg, or anything colonial for that matter.

I love your description of Virginia. A lot more than the actual one haha. Let's see if i can clear it up at all. Trees, yes, but there seem to be fewer and fewer. All this damn building they do now. I mean I just wish they would stop building here because it used to be so beautiful here and now, everywhere you look there's a strip mall, there's a change restaurant, it's another god damn gas station. I mean i love the city too, I really do. I just miss seeing so much greenery. So let's see, it gets so fucking humid here in the summer. You can feel it just leaning near a window and putting your face close. Getting into Megan's car is horrible. What I hate most about this area is it's all fucking suburbs. I hate it. It's stupid, it's fucking dumb, houses EVERYWHERE. if it's not a church, gas station, chain restaurant/store, it's a neighborhood.

About Obama, I really think you nailed it on the head for me. so true. I mean there are a load of things i don't agree on but as presence is amazing. I trust him, I think he's a lot more capable than anyone else we've had in a while. so I wanna see how it goes.

I guess the greatest song of all time really has to be all about the moment. The right song to fit the right moment. I love it when you play a song because you think it'll fit the current feel of everything and it does. It does so perfectly. And you have chills because it's just so "right". A lot of times I'll imagine I'm in a movie when that happens. Because you know in really kickass movies, the songs are played exactly at the right moments, so I just picture it. It's one of my favorite feelings and i don't know if anyone else knows about it. Now everyone does, i guess. hahaha

I need to read tuesdays with morrie, my mom's been telling me to for a while. She loves it and she never ever reads. And of course The Perks. Where can I start with the Perks. Pure genius. I've read six times and I know what you mean. It's a book I'll probably die with.
