Sword Lessons
If there was one thing Brandr took more seriously than duty, it was the art of sword fighting. All those who'd argue against its standing as an art or who would claim that any other type of weapon was superior, would find themselves knocked to the ground with cold steel against them.

If one was going to wield a sword, especially any offspring of the Warriors Three, then they were going to be doing it properly. Of that he'd personally make sure. Which is how he'd often ended up directing impromptu sword lessons for some of his younger 'cousins' on his off-duty days. Some only though. Volstagg's numerous children were enough to make this a full time profession.

He turns to Hjordis, "Ist his grip always so atrocious?"

Never seeming to be standing still for very long, Brandr parries her attacks and dances in between the pair before turning to deliver a few swift attacks to their back. The clash of swords ringing through the air seemed to add to the grin on his face. "Mayhap if I ever am to venture to Midgard I shalt go see this sorcery for mineself." Putting a stop to it might be an entertaining challenge.

"Thou shalt travel to Migard one day," Hjordis said as she spun and blocked his attack. "I doth hope Lord Thor send Douglas, Skari and I anon."

Douglas just scrambles to block frantically with an "Aye."

"If mine duty sends me there then I shalt. Any suggestions for sights or adventures shouldst I ever travel to Midgard?" As he talks he goes on the attack, pressing forward and swinging at both in turn, alternating between his targets as his attacks pick up speed.

"Pizza," Hjordis said as she blocked his swing. "Thou must try pizza and chocolate. Disneyland ist a place thou must go.""

The swings come in faster as he presses forward. "Ist the pizza and chocolate equal in both Scotland and America?"

"Nay. America ist far superior. Scotland hast good football to hear Douglas tell it."

She kept blocking and tried to take the offensive.

Douglas has all he can to keep hold of his sword and maintain his defenses. "Football ist important. The Rangers must be chastened as a lesson to the forces of insular bigotry everywhere. Granny said so."

He doesn't let up or let her take the offensive. The attacks keep coming and his feet never seem to stay in the same place. But when he does quicken his attacks, he aims the extra ones at Hjordis instead since she seemed like she could take them.

"America it ist if I should visit. Though you have told me many a story about these infamous Rangers, Douglas. Mayhap I shalt visit Scotland to see them. And Scotland which you have spoken of so oft seems to be a place where I shalt find many a challenge."

Hjordis held her own, barely, but she didn't let him get any strikes in. Her sword blocked his strikes, but she couldn't find an opening to take a swing at him.

The grin on Brandr's face doesn't leave and, instead of seeming to tire, the fact that they're holding their own with this pace only seems to widen that grin and give him more energy. He keeps the pace the same but puts more variety into where he's aiming his attacks. Better they get put through the paces now than make a mistake where it counts.

"Thine defenses have improved since our swords last met. Hath ye tried thine hands at any other weapons? I don't hold much favour with the mace mineself, it feels clumsy and cumbersome. Far too slow in battle," he chats casually as he goes, just a sign of how relaxed he is when in his element. After a bit he makes a move to try and disarm one of them.

"I hath been practicing with axes and spears," Hjordis replied as she feigned a strike and then came in from a different angle.
