When she leans over, he leans back a bit to keep his eye on her face if he's going to be talking to her. Just polite and all. He doesn't seem to have been checking anyone else out either, and doesn't show any signs he's dating anyone, so possibly just that much of a boy scout.
"I'm a Metropolis native, actually. And yes, those are always something else, aren't they?"
