1. Similar to Ruth's presence, Jarrod's seemed to help lower the incidence of Ty's meltdowns - if it occasionally included other limits on his abilities, it was a worthwhile sacrifice. Ty was all for working with Jarrod when they ran across each other.
2. In addition to Ruth, Jay and Dr. Fate being about, Jarrod provided an interesting opportunity to study how this whole order-and-chaos thing went as a natural law, encouraging the occasional association outside of work.
3. Bailing each other out a couple times in the field probably didn't hurt associations any, and Jarrod even managed to coax Ty out of his lab here and there outside of missions, in part because Jarrod seemed to have pretty good insight into when things might be quiet for a while.
4. After that, they actually started to talk. Jarrod's precognition meshed well with Ty's processing power for providing first useful insight to each other - and then being able to better help their allies.
5. While not the best man, Jarrod was one of the groomsmen at Ty's wedding when he finally proposed - like Jarrod knew he would.
