Moving Day
"Enh... enh!" Mason grunted as he dragged the duffel bag behind him by it's straps, his favorite toolkit and another bag already tucked under his arms as he approached the main entrance. This was it. Alpha Flight. The big leagues.

Well, eventually the big leagues. There was a lot of training, and he knew he'd have to tow the line. But dude! He was going to be a superhero! For his country! Alpha Flight was like... like... the Avengers! Only Canadian.

This was gonna be awesome. He pressed the buzzer on the door, waiting to be let in.

She gave him a puzzled look. "I, ah, don't really watch many movies," she said. "So I have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry. But motivation's always good."

She shook her head. "No idea. Department H has mostly left us alone right now... but we keep figuring they're gonna drop some stooge on us any day now."

"The only stooges I tolerate are Moe, Larry, and Curly." Mason responded reflexively, then stared at her as she said she didn't watch movies.

"You... oh you poor thing. I can fix that. I can definitely help fix that. Oh god, where do we start... Of course, the basics. Star Wars, Princess Bride, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Ocean's Eleven, Sword In The Stone..." His mind seemed to be racing. "We're gonna need popcorn. Lots of popcorn. You live in the ocean, so you're probably used to a lot of salt in whatever you eat, right? Nachos, them too. And M&M's..."

"Okay, I've seen all of those except for the Ocean one, which is weird, because I have seen just about every boat or ocean picture," she said.

She shook her head. "I don't live underwater. I just have to submerge myself every so often. I'm from Newfoundland."

"It's a trilogy. I can't say it's as great as the others, but it's just really FUN. Great ensemble cast. You're off to a good start if you've seen all the others. Now we'll need to start you on bad movies so you can start appreciating good ones more. Don't worry, I'm not gonna make you watch like... like... the Universal Soldier direct to video sequels, or Highlander 2, but there's some bad stuff we can forge you with."

Mason nods at her explanation, then pauses. "Do they still have popcorn and nachos there?"

Marrina laughed at that, wondering about Mason's grasp of geography. "Yes, we still have popcorn and nachos."

"Oh, okay. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be culture shocking you too much in addition to bad movies." He pauses. "Broderick Godzilla, that's a definite one for the list. It's bad, but it's like... it's funny. It's got Jean Reno. Oh right, The Professional, that's an actually good one. Mom didn't want me watching it, but Jordie rented it for me and I snuck it under the covers with my laptop overnight. Mission Impossible, he's in that too, goes in the 'bad but entertaining' column."

He pauses.

"Would you like to go to the movies sometime? They let us out for stuff like that, right?"

Marrina smiled. "They do. For now, anyway."

"I'd like that," she added.

He grins enthusiastically. "Awesome. It's a date then."

A pause, and a blush. "Uh... I mean... well...."

Wait, should he say it's not a 'date' date? If he's actually got something good set, he doesn't want to undo it.

If this actually turned out to be a 'date' date, then girls were much easier to deal with than previous information had indicated to him.

"It's a date," she assured him.

He blinks, then nods.

"It's a date. Tomorrow around six or seven."

Well that was surprisingly painless.

"I'm gonna go try to find my room now. Very nice meeting you." He smiles and excuses himself.
