Test Scene
She had flown to New York not first class or business class but coach.  It had been her own idea, though her mother had heartily agreed to it.  Her father had been a bit more reluctant but Chara had explained herself well: once out of Wakanda and Africa in general, she was going to be more anonymous than a princess of another nation or even her elder sister.  If the purpose of her leaving home was to get life experience, traveling first class with all the pomp and circumstance that came with royalty defeated that purpose.  This is how it was that Princess T'Chara of Wakanda ended up at JFK waiting for her sister to pick her up on one of the rainiest days of the year.

Chara didn't mind, of course.  The rain never bothered her at all.

"What?" She noted the weird look. This was primarily where they differed, their approach to things. "Part of me doing this is the whole learn things outside of being important business. It's hardly a learned lesson if I'm just packing up my princess and toting it around with me."

She hadn't told her sister that, while in the States, she was going by T'Chara Charles just yet. She'd inform her later.

"I'm kind of excited. I get to hang out with Misha and see Uncle Logan."

"You must still maintain your appearances, T'Chara," Akilah explained. "Despite that which you choose to learn, you cannot simply put aside your royal heritage. You are a public figure, and the general public will judge you wherever you go. And in turn, they will judge our family; Father especially. Please, just keep that in mind."

But that was enough of that. She really didn't want to lecture her sister. At least, not right now.

"Enough of that talk," she said. "I'm sure they are both looking forward to seeing you, and hearing if Mother has anything she wanted you to say to them."

Chara fought the urge to roll her eyes. This was the usual divide between the two with Akilah being more appearances minded and Chara being more practical. It wasn't that she didn't agree about being judged, but more that she saw the flipside of things, that she would be more harshly judged if she did not have the appropriate experience to be in the line of succession for a country with a warrior monarch.

"She absolutely has things for me to give them, but I'm more excited about the prospect of giving Misha crap about his childhood forays into Mormonism."

She grinned. Poor Misha, his "wives" always sneaking up on him, but that's what he gets for having played so many games of House.

Akilah didn't roll her eyes. She tapped her fingers in a row on the seat. A small smiled crept across her face.

"Are you still jealous that you were not among them, little sister?"

"I was Wife Four, the youngest and meanest. It happened on that visit you couldn't come on because you had chicken pox."
