Nintendo Wii News


Just this morning Nintendo announced some new and exciting details about the Nintendo Wii.

It will cost $250 and will be available on November 19th. It will come in white. Virtual console game (NES, SNES, N64) will cost from $5 to $10. Yay, more Zelda: OOT!!

I am extremely enthralled and will be pre-ordering one ASAP!!

I am still wondering about the other colors the console was supposed to come in though…anyone know anything about that??

UPDATE: Here’s some new and hopefully confirmed Nintendo Wii specs!!

CPU:
1.2GHz Single Core IBM PowerPC processor “Broadway”

GPU:
ATI “Hollywood”

Memory:
256MB of 400MHz GDDR2 RAM on a 128-bit bus. The memory is shared by the CPU and the GPU via the unified memory architecture.

Ports and peripheral capabilities:

* Up to four Wii Remote controllers (connected wirelessly via Bluetooth)
* One SD memory card slot
* Two USB 2.0 ports
* One Sensor Bar port
* Four Nintendo GameCube controller ports
* Two Nintendo GameCube memory card ports
* Compatible with optional USB 2.0 to Ethernet LAN adaptor

Storage:

* 512 MB built-in flash memory
* Expansion available via SD card memory and USB mass storage
* Slot-loading disc drive compatible with:

* Up to 480p and will work with a computer monitor as well as any TV or projector
