She hadn't allowed him to pay for her. She hadn't allowed him to hold the door for her. She hadn't allowed him to pick their food. She'd gotten shirty when he sarcastically cracked a "yes, ma'am." This was possibly the worst first date that Fredrick had ever been on! By the end of the night, he was at his wit's end. So, after he dodged down to give her a quick peck without asking, he was more than a bit surprised when Agatha grabbed the front of his robes and nearly took his head clean off with a kiss.

"If you made any less sense," Fredrick huffed as he licked his bruised lip, "you'd be one of those Rubric's dealies."
