1. anais is largely self-educated. despite the fact that she's naturally quite bright, the last grade that she fully completed before coming to lowood was the sixth. she was put into an alternative school, but it was outside of her little community and she had to ride the bus, so she rarely went. she learned just enough to get by and learned the rest from books. (most of her english and writing skills she learned from erotica books that she found in an apartment.) she knows how to read and write and knows the basics of math and science, but she's at a complete loss when it comes to history, the technicalities of grammar, any advanced math, and anything beyond basic earth science. lowood has modified her curriculum to make up for this and keep her interested in school.

2. she had an inappropriate relationship with her father. by which i mean, yes, capital Inappropriate. she has daddy issues like you wouldn't believe, which is why she hates men so deeply. as far as she's concerned, they're all ass-grabbing pigs.

3. anais has never in her life seen a movie at a movie theater. there wasn't one in the town where she grew up, and after she moved to new orleans she was too poor whenever she even thought of it, which was rarely.

4. she doesn't know her birth mother, but she's told that she was cuban and very beautiful. she's never been told what happened to her or why when she left she didn't take anais with her.

5. she's not afraid of any of the normal things girls are afraid of. she's quite alright with bugs and snakes and mice and the lot. her only real phobia is of being buried alive.
