Haku, part III
Personality/Likes & Dislikes:
On the surface, Haku seems very nearly one dimensional. He is polite, soft spoken, and direct-though certainly not insensitive. He graces everyone he sees with a smile, a polite hello when within speaking distance or prompted, and moves with a grace that gives away his dancer's body in an instant. His single dimension is a pleasant one that, for the most part, keeps him out of any immediate danger. But that is only on the surface.

Haku is very adept at adapting. Stronger than his faintly feminine looks would lead any one to believe, he has accepted the going ons of his life and has moved on, taking with him only what he needed to survive and tossing any trauma, any pain, by the wayside to be collected with the trash. And that, among other things, gives a small insight into those deeper depths from the surface if anyone cared to look...

His mental stability, while questionable when coupled with the strange relationship he held with his caretaker and his almost obsessive need to please, does not make him dangerous. On the contrary, Haku would gladly lay down his own life before intentionally wounding anyone.

Due to his curiously feminine look, Haku's sexuality has come into question more than a few times. As far as Haku is concerned, sex is unimportant and uninteresting. While he has experienced physical longing a time or two, he's never actively sought out any kind of physical relationship with anyone. If that sort of a thing would make him more useful, more hopeful, in fulfilling his need to please someone else, he would gladly give of himself.

First person writing sample:

At first, I thought that unpacking would be the very best way to begin making the new apartment feel more like a home-after all, a few touches of personality, of sentimentality, can add as much warmth to a place as morning sunshine. But the more my house mate seems to flutter around, so quiet and unobtrusive, the more I feel that, perhaps, getting better acquainted with her would be the best way to make both of us feel more at home. Knick knacks and curtains aside-it is the people in a house that make it a home.

Everyone is supposed to feel safe in their home-not awkward. So, I am planning a night of bonding with her. I've rented a movie-one that is not sappy (I don't want her to think that my intentions are impure) and just scary enough to, perhaps, bring us a little closer together through the human experience of 'safe fear'-and we are sufficiently stocked up on popcorn and hot cocoa. I know that I have never loved a home that didn't have atleast a little hot cocoa drinking going on within it every now and again. Hot cocoa has the very essence of safety and home and family in it.

So here is to hoping! I really want her to feel happy here and for us not to ghost around each other as though we're complete strangers. She looks like a girl who could use a friend to talk to when she comes home and, I suppose, it would be good for me too. It's unhealthy for a person to be alone all the time-theatre family or not!
