Physical description (face, build, weight): Avia is only of slightly below average height, with an athletic build. She has dark hair and brown eyes.

Abilities: Avia possesses the longevity and enhanced attributes common to most New Gods, though her physical attributes are significantly less than that of her sister, instead topping out at peak human levels. She is a skilled escape artist, easily as good as her father. She has received combat training from her mother, but prefers to think her way out rather than fight. She uses a Mother Box who’s circuitry has been woven into the fabric of her mask (this allows for things like Boom Tubes, flight disks, high-speed calculations, sensor scans, and limited energy manipulation). She also has a set of lock-picks.
Weaknesses and flaws: While not a pacifist, Avia’s reluctance to do harm to others can prove to be her undoing in situations where aggressive would serve her better.

Backstory: The second child of Scott and Barda Free (who felt something of a need to bring many new New God lives into a free universe), Avia was named for Scott’s mother and enjoyed much of the same childhood as her older sister, Hope. Notable, however, was her reluctance to learn much of fighting, beyond what was necessary to protect herself. It was not that she was lacking in the skills, she simply preferred to think her way out of situations, to distract or contain, rather than do harm. Avia learned escapology from her father as soon as she was old enough, working her way up to an assistant in his act before being allowed to contribute performance pieces of her own. She developed into quite the showman, knowing how to work a crowd like almost nobody else and how to give them the show they wanted, with just the right about of tease and action. Along the way, she’s stopped a crime or two, creating enough of a presence to possibly attract the attention of the Birds. Avia is an extreme anti-war advocate, as well as of other charitable causes. For reasons unknown, Avia has adopted a speech pattern that can best be described as “cosmic hippie”.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Probably some kind of performance, if not that, just hanging out with her sister.
What are you planning to do with this character? Hang out with Hope, get the heroes occasionally involved in more social causes.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I know there’s Apocalypse stuff late in the pipeline. Also, Avia will begin taking a good long look at her beliefs and whether or not they’re practical or can hold up.
