It's really just incredibly complicated, because it wasn't even like we were dating or anything, we were just...it was just one of those things. We both needed what the other could provide, and it worked for both of us.

That is until he started to completely avoid me without any warning, and then suddenly started appearing at events and in rags with the same pretty blonde. And no, she's not a player.

Sounds like you had more vested in all this than he did. There's a bright side in her not being a player, though. I'm sure there are some sorts of rules about outside people at practices and the like? I would think, at least.

Do you think it's something you could discuss with him and have him understand?

I never thought I had anything vested in it. That was part of the deal between us - that we wouldn't have an emotional relationship, but a purely physical one that wouldn't effect our friendship, or our status as teammates...but then he started avoiding me like I had the plague, but he never explained why and I never thought to ask because then it would seem like I was hurt by it.

And I was, but I couldn't let him know that, because then things would have gotten strained between us as teammates because it would have gotten weird, so I just acted like nothing was wrong.

When the Arrows approached me, I thought I'd be getting a fresh start with a brand new team, leaving behind all my dirty laundry in Montrose. I never felt like I really belonged there anyway, regardless of everything that happened, and now he's not only going to be my teammate again but my captain.

How am I supposed to discuss something like that with him? What if he was avoiding me for so long for a reason, and finding out what that reason is will only make me feel like a complete idiot for the entire season?

	Can you--would it help any to talk to management? Maybe there's--I know it would be a bit strange for a trade so soon into the season, but would it be possible? If it's not something you really want to think about and deal with the entire season. If it were me, in the same situation...well, hell. I've been there. I moved to a different bloody country. Hey now, don't get like that. You have every right to be concerned about this and I understand where you're coming from. No matter how much you say it, it's hard to keep a sexual relationship just about the physical. Things happen.

I can't tell you if it's gonna be better to let it go or to talk to him about it but--I think if I could go back and talk things through with Gabriel at certain crossroads in our past, I would have.

If he's a good friend, he's not going to judge you for how you feel. And if he does, then he's a bloody bastard and you say the word and I swear I'll make his arse grass in the papers (Not that I can really do that because that may or may not be considered libel and frowned upon but still). Don't do anything rash, give it some thought before you make your next move. And until then just--keep cool as a cucumber.
