Google searches I have done today:

viral pathogens
earthquakes rocky mountain region
bullet proof vests effectiveness

The hazards of being a writer are great, in every sense of that adjective.

Although if the government is monitoring my activities I'm probably screwed. It's all research for a novel, I swear! Please don't send homeland security after me. Thank you.

That's a very eclectic search. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Yeah, when I decided to write a post-apocalyptic thriller I didn't realize just how much weird stuff I was going to need to know. They never teach you the useful stuff in school... (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Just out of curiosity, what do earthquakes in the Rocky Mountains have to do with a post-apocalyptic thriller? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I wanted to use a natural disaster as a plot device, because my characters' lives didn't suck enough already, and I was trying to decide what would be the most reasonable. I may hit them with a blizzard too. I figure things haven't gone as far as they can reasonably go until things have gotten as bad as they can possibly get. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

That certainly sounds...thrilling. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I hope so. That's sort of the point. (Reply to this)(Parent)
