[waiting to be picked up outside her apartment, saving Hashirama the trouble of walking up five flights of stairs to her door since there's no elevator here. is wearing a simple little black dress, hugging her arms close and holding onto her clutch purse, feeling out of place looking so nice while people walk around so casually. isn't used to going on dates like this, but has been getting used to it, and of course has a mission tonight but that can wait... is looking forward to these little dates.]

[shuffles along carefully, listening to the gravel under her feet change to cement, not hearing much noise around them except some distant cars... and hears a keypad, suddenly feeling fearful that he's found the bugs and suspects her and is turning her into the police and... oh, it's a... museum? leans back against him, feeling relief.] A museum...? Of all sorts of things? Like dinosaurs? [immediate thought when it comes to museums.]

	Fine artwork. [takes hand and leads them through up and out of the main corridor to the side steps, up the stairs to the showcase.] They were a collector of artifacts. 	It will be wasted in the hands of the police. I hope someone buys it, it deserves to be shown to people. No one appreciates anything like this anymore, people are too busy, the younger generation just don't care. I'm sure they'll auction it off... and it'll be purchased cheap by collectors, doomed to hang over someone's mantle forever. Seen by one, not by many. There's not much appreciation for these types of things... [spots something she wants a closer look at, tugging him along suddenly.] Blue roses... they don't exist naturally. They said a single blue rose could grant you love, and all the prosperity that came with it. But it's sad, that they would be given such a high power, but lack the ability to exist naturally. I guess it means there's nothing in the world that can give you instant love. They are beautiful, though, and with white roses and blue dyes through the stem, they can be artificially created, but the color isn't like this. In Japan they genetically altered a rose to become blue, but... of course it still isn't natural.

	People still need something symbolic to look up to, strive for and admire. Such as the fountain of youth and the holy grail, told in story of legends but the actuality of it existing is next to none. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	There had to be many other facts that will result in love, a true love, one that you will fight for. Like the Japanese and their meaning to flowers, it can't be taken too serious but people do. They will guide their lives by myths and superstitions. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

True... But I think the meanings we give them can shape lives. Picture a woman dying of old age... her children bringing her a bouquet of her favorite flowers. Or a schoolboy crush, bringing her a handful of dandelions... those kinds of things change lives. But it's the meaning behind it. I like to think the beauty helps. Or in the case of your friend the bonsai, it offers a constant source of strength and inspiration right? Even though you neglected it, it forgives you... and even continues to grow for you. [enough of that, moves on to the next painting, looking over it thoughtfully, giving Hashirama's hand a little squeeze.]

My secret has been given away. [chuckles.] I hope what else I have planned will be just as good. [covers eyes again and leads outside through the back door out into a large garden with hedges and flowers everywhere. the smell alone would give it away. there is even a small maze that has been constructed there. there is a small garden set on the pavement set up with two chairs waiting for them.] I thought a restaurant would be too crowded to talk. [uncovers eyes.]

Your life is full of dedicated people. [sticks close, thankful he didn't take her to a bar or something. since that's where they met and all, but associates bars with shady business deals and it's not somewhere she would feel secure right now.] Why would the police keep people from this place? Like money gained from extortionists and bank robbers, never returns to the system, sits in an evidence locker... why not use it for something constructive, feed children, build a park, anything.

Protocol mostly. We have to keep it until it is past statue of limitations and then it can be released in case it is needed for evidence again. But I understand. It doesn't get cycled out even after the fact, collecting dust when it could go to a greater purpose. The police aren't the greedy ones, we are the ones that go out and do the work while all the highers take the credit. They are the ones that keep it locked up but we are the ones that people see first. The public image of the force. Even if the order was passed down to you to do something that you will regret, you have no choice because it is your job.

	It does. Normal officers are trained in the required training to handle most normal situations you will come across. You can stay like that until the day you retire, or you can go onto high ranks but in doing so, you have to complete extra training, degrees, put more work into it.
