"Oh, for fuck's sake!" Avis gritted her teeth, throwing a hex over her shoulder. She'd barely caught sight of the little vial as it rolled out from her pocket to the other side of the bloody battlefield, but she'd seen it. Tomas squawked something about not being able to hear her because he was too busy saving the world, thanks, and she responded by grabbing his arm firmly.

She jerked him forward by his sleeve (she had to be fast, really fast...) and kissed him hard.

"We're pregnant."

"What?"

"Well, it isn't my fault that we got called in during the middle of me taking the tes--"

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE TAKING A TEST!"

"WELL I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU AFTER!"
