What If: Family Life
Lian was enjoying a couple of hours of precious sleep, having not gotten much since the twins were born.

The sound of fussing on the baby monitor at two a.m caused her eyes to flutter open.

Lian tried her best not to stir, hoping that her husband would wake up and at least see who was crying so she could get a couple more minutes of sleep in before going to join him.

	"You did not have to get up, Beloved. I would have handled them both." Damien says, though he is silently grateful she did. The twins could be a handful, even when they were sleeping. 	Damien finishes changing Alex, then smiles and picks him up, giving him a kiss on the forehead, before taking him over to see his mother and sister. "Alex, look who is here! 	"Oh, come now, Donna. Do not be rude to your brother. Smile for him." Damien requests. Alex sneezes and cuddles with his father. "Apparently, two a.m. is too early for pleasantries." Damien laughs. 	"Nor am I. I think we can find something to do with our newfound energy, though." Damien says, walking Alex to the crib and placing him inside. Damien chuckled as he heard snoring before Alex was fully settled. Then he turned and kissed Donna's forehead. "Watch out for your brother, will you, my little princess?" Damien whispers. 	Damien pulls his wife closer, looking down on their children. "Thank you for staying with me, Beloved. I know it was a hard choice, but I am glad you chose our family." he says, dropping to his knees to kiss her hips where her tattoos were.
