Hi there!

My name is Himura Kaoru, assistant master of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu style of swordsmanship and current owner of the Kamiya dojo. I inherited the school from my father after he died, and although we've suffered numerous blows in the past, never once have I given up and closed it down. It always helps that I've got such a strong student to inherit things from me, though--I'm certain that Yahiko is going to someday be a great teacher of my father's style.

Don't tell him, but I'm really glad to have the kid around, since I've taken on a couple other duties lately that keep my full attention away from teaching. In case you haven't heard, I'm a wife and mother now; isn't that wild! I've got to devote a lot of time these days to Kenshin and Kenji, but I love every second of it, and of course I won't let it stop me from being a swordsman. Someone's got to be the Rose of Martial Arts around here, right?
