Momma was talking to the Tall Lady.

Momma was talking to the Tall Lady because she wanted Annamarie gone.

Momma was talking to the Tall Lady to make sure Annamarie would be safe.

Momma couldn't look at her anymore. Momma loved her very much, but she was in pain, too.

The copper and silver thoughts wrapped loosely around each other.

It hadn't been like this the first time, on the riverbank. The confused, impetuous thoughts of Cody Arnold Frederick had shot through her head like streaks of white on a lousy TV screen.

But Irene Adler had not been an impetuous person. And she had not been taken by surprise.

Annamarie sure had. And still was, as she kicked her feet a little, sitting on the stool outside the room

Emma looks into the girl's mind to grab the image she's thinking of, the whole scenario really, to see what sort of gun and, more specifically, what man in a fancy tie. There were only so many men with odd ties and one specifically she wanted shot. Multiple times.

"A 33% chance only?" Shame. "It shouldn't be too worrisome yet. If you're shooting him darling, I'm sure he did something to deserve it."

The clip clip of the heels came to a stop in front of a door as they entered the next wing. "These will be the dorms, we don't have many students yet so you're free to choose which room you will. All quality furnishings of course, I wouldn't allow anything less in here, it's dreadful what they try to pass off as 'quality work' nowadays, insulting really. The rooms are all quite the same but location of the room can make all the difference of course, your belongings will be brought up while we finish the tour, so no need to worry over things like that darling."

Annamarie nodded. "Right. Okay." And she'll continue to take in the building and grounds, and later, when her stuff's been brought up to her isolated room-with-a-view, she'll get her way into an outfit that perhaps only Raven Darkholme would have bought a fairly shy fifteen-year-old.

The bodysuit and gloves covered everything -- and covered it very, very closely. Minimum exposure, maximum mobility. Annamarie added a scarf over part of her hair, just in case.

Now, maybe, she could face people. Maybe.

When she decides to make her way out of her room, Emma's there to greet her. Not at her door, but walking down the hall to be the first person to see her. Yes, it's timed, and it wasn't hard to keep tabs to see when the girl would be finished, but there was no reason to make anyone uncomfortable by waiting at the door.

"Lovely darling, you look lovely." Though she didn't need to read minds to know that the girl hadn't picked this out herself. "If you need more clothes we'll go shopping for some shortly, won't have my students lacking."

Emma herself was still in 'teacher' mode. All white business attire that she managed to make draw the eye still. Wasn't hard with the way it clung to her and how she held herself. Always make them look, that's how it was.

"We'll fix that at our first chance. Come along, we have another student to meet," she said and waved Annamarie to follow her.

As they walked down the hall she debriefed the girl. "Normally I would leave the explaining abilities to each of you but I will warn you ahead of time on this one. He mimics the powers of mutants nearby him. How many he can do at once we're still determining, but given yours...I thought it fair to warn you so that you're free to warn him about the touching aspect should you need to." She spoke in a brisk business-like tone about this, very matter-of-factly.

Maybe some of those textbooks with the stuff about, what as it called, continuous conscious identity being an illusion were right. She could remember, but not really remember, being that person. Quiet indeed. With Emma's thoughts always shielded there wasn't much to hear around here except the new girl.

She's not too fond of this form of communication darling. Just to be aware. It's not saying don't do it, just pointing out the girl's preference she'd found out before. Which was the whole reason they'd been having the conversation entirely verbally.

"Now that we've all been introduced, a little something about ourselves then? I'd like to hear from you yourself." Because it wasn't always the same as delving into the mind and memories, what people shared, or didn't, sometimes told you just as much about them as if you'd retrieved that info yourself. "Let's go out to the grounds while we do that. A short tour isn't amiss."

	Calvin manages to avoid any physical sign of the message from Emma, just sending back, Noted. Just had to test if I could manage two at a time. First chance I've had. Calvin's transcripts, what there were - which Emma had no problem obtaining, of course - were full of comments regarding how quickly he learned... when he was motivated and paying attention. That was always the difficult part. Too many days of school missed, for one reason or another. Too easily bored by material he hadn't been there to learn. Too little motivation when good or bad grades got the same result.

"Bet it was." he replies, while thinking how much he wishes he had been adopted. Even if it meant ending up with some weird name like Darkholme-Adler or Worthington.
