Partying, Redneck Style!
Characters: Rike and Meka
Setting: Rike's hometown.
Content: SFW, about a PG-13 on swearing.
Summary: Rike takes Meka mudding during Meka's stay at her house.


Rike had invited Meka up to stay at her place for a couple days during the summer break. There wasn't much to it, really, just an older one-story house in the rural area of Hannibal, Missouri. If they made the drive into town, they could poke around shops and tourist traps and see the Mississippi. Back at her home, they were out on a dirt road, the closest homes belonging to Rike's aunts and uncles.

The first thing, however, that Rike had decided they should do upon getting Meka settled in was to go out on Rike's cousin's ATVs down in the creek, and take part in the glorious sport of muddin'.

Rike thundered out the door and down the porch stairs, waiting for Meka to come along after her.

Meka had never been to Missouri, and the concept of muddin' was completely foreign to her. She had to ask several times what Rike was talking about. She was excited none the less though, hanging out with Rike was always fun and seeing her home would be awesome.

After she was all settled in and stuffing a couple cigarettes in her pockets she followed Rike outside. With a name like muddin' she deduced that they were going to get muddy, as to how... well she still wasn't quite sure.

"So what exactly is it that we're doing again?" she asked her friend curiously falling to step with her.

Rike grinned at her friend, looking pretty excited about whatever it was they were getting up to.

"Mudding. You drive ATV into the creek and out again, so on, so forth, as quickly as possible. Try not to die, try to get as messy as possible. It's fun!"

Rike hops onto one of the ATVs in question, sitting on it like she'd been born there.

"You can drive an ATV, yes?"

Meka laughed as Rike explained mudding and watched her hop onto the ATV. Well it sounded easy enough... and mildly terrifying. "I've never actually driven one before," she admitted looking at the machine.

"Is it common to know how to drive one of these bad boys?" she asked with a grin.

Rike shrugs. "Not common, no, but not hard. You are not stupid, it should be easy!"

She looks a little apprehensive, though, because they're not her ATVs. She does not want to owe Brandon an ATV. There is no way in hell she has that much money.

"Perhaps we could take one, and take turns driving."

Meka nodded. "Yeah that's a good idea," she said. "I can watch you first." The last thing she wanted to do was damage someone else's ATV. "Pick up some pointers on the way," she added with a smirk.

It couldn't be harder than go-karts though, right?

"Yes! Exactly." Rike beams again and pats the seat behind her.

"Get on, then! We are wasting the daylight."

Yes, get on the ATV behind the crazy German girl. This is an awesome plan!

Meka hopped on behind Rike. Her dad would kill her if he knew what she was about to do. "Alright! Let's go!" she said enthusiastically, clinging for her life.

Rike cheered and gunned it, sending them speeding off down the road in the direction of the creek bed. She made sure to shout a few instructions back at Meka as they drove, so the other girl wouldn't be totally clueless when Rike passed the reins to her.

The countryside, while not quite whipping by, was moving at a fair pace. The interesting part came when Rike turned the ATV and took them off-road, trundling through a forest and down an incline to the messy, muddy, completely clothes-ruining slop that surrounded the creek bed.

"Here we are!"

Oh hell yes.

Meka felt an adrenaline rush as they took off down the road. It was probably the most exciting thing she was going to do all vacation. It was a little bumpy but totally fun. Meka listened as best she could to the directions Rike was shouting back to her. It didn't sound to complicated. She was sure she could handle it, especially with Rike sitting on the back. She would let her friend do the maneuvering for now.

When the creek bed came into view Meka's grin widened. There was something about jumping into a puddle of mud that made every kid grin but driving through it... they had to be better. "Wooo!" she cheered from the back. "I could get used to this!"

Rike revved the engine and squared up to the largest mud puddle.

"I will take the first few passes, and then we switch, yes?"

And, with an almost evilly gleeful giggle, "Hold on."

"Sounds good to me!" Meka agreed.

And then Meka held on with all her might as they sped toward the looming puddle. She let out a squeal of delight as the first splash of mud came up.

Rike whooped and hollered as she sped through the mud puddles, sending waves of water and muck over the ATV, the girls, and everything else inside the blast zone.

She pulled them to a spin and a stop, sending up another huge spray of mud. She stopped laughing long enough to catch her breath and to look behind her at Meka.

"Your turn!"

Meka was laughing wildly, surprised by how much fun it was to speed through a mud puddle and have it sprayed all over them. "Ok!" she agreed brightly.

She switched spots with Rike quickly and got herself familiar with the ATV before speeding off toward the puddle sending up waves of mud, she took a huge splash of mud to the face, laughing hysterical the whole time.

She pulled to a stop once they were clear of the mud and turned to her friend. "How did I do?" she asked, attempting to wipe the mud from her face.

Rike laughed when Meka got a face full of mud, getting hit heavily by the wave as well.

She shook her head when they stopped, splattering mud everywhere. She wiped her eyes clear of it before grinning at Meka.

"Wunderbar! You are doing very well!"

Meka wiped the mud from around her eyes. "This is the most fun ever!" she said excitedly, switching spots with Rike again.

"I am glad." Rike grinned, laughing at Meka's mud-covered face. She revved the ATV's engine again and took them on another pass through the mud.

Meka could have gone mudding for hours, she didn't even know what time it was by the time they had finally called it quits. All she was sure of was that they were covered in mud and both surprisingly happy about it.

"I don't know if I'm ever going to get clean," Meka laughed, completely care free for once in her life.
