Someone spiked the punch... with a love potion. Odd couples start forming, people are dropping their dates like flies for some pretty strange combinations.
Sam had almost not wanted to go to the dance. He was still recovering from the month's full moon, it had always taken him a few days to make a full recovery despite taking wolf's bane potion. He was tired and dragging but he knew he had to carry on so no one would find out his secret. There was also the little fact that Valentine's Day dances were always full of corny decorations and couple-y things and he was a single dude. Sure his friends would be there and not everyone would have a date but it always seemed more fun to go to the Valentine's dance with someone who might be interested in you. Regardless, he pulled on some fancy pants and headed down to King's Hall, going just a little bit late so he could avoid the awkward pictures at the beginning.
He wandered over to the punch table and poured himself a glass, normally he wouldn't chance it but he shrugged it off and slugged back the whole cup. Something weird happened, a feeling came over him like vulnerability. He tried to shake it off and turned to his left where he saw his buddy Sim. "Oh hey man," he said looking at the other boy. There was something about Sim that was different though, something... fetching. "Dude... you're like... really handsome tonight," Sam said as he slowly realized he was in love with the other boy, probably always had been!
Sim had come to this dance to please Meka. I mean, girls loved shit like this, right? But she had disappeared and all this heart stuff was making him feel kind of sick, so he had been resting at the refreshments, Taking a sip of punch, he looked at where the voice was coming from and felt... his heart flutter? That couldn't be right. But this felt totally natural!
"Oh hey bro, thanks!" Sim grinned goofily and puffed his chest out a bit. "Have you been working out? You look totally ripped, man."
Sam felt his cheeks color a bit and smiled shyly. "You think so? I mean, I have been hittin' the gym a few times a week," he felt like he had butterflies in his stomach.
One of the cherubs took aim and fired a foam arrow right at Sam's head. It bounced off and he caught it, looking at it. "Here," he said holding it out to Sim. "It'll bring out the color of your eyes."
"That's really nice of you man!" Sim took the arrow and stuffed it in his back pocket. He looked around wildly and picked up a fistful of glitter hearts. "Take this! To always remember this night."
Sim's eyes lit up like he was a kid on Christmas. "Really! Thanks man," he stuffed the glitter into his pocket after sprinkling a little into his own hair and giggling. Giggling? Yeah... that was totally a giggle but it was chill... they were bros!
"You're so sweet man, like... real sweet. I'll never forget tonight," he flushed. "You wanna go dance with me?"
Meka had come with Sim, it had been sweet of him to go without complaining too much. It wasn't that she was terribly fond of dances and the decor was beyond tacky, leaving something to be desired. Still, it was nice to have someone like him to go with, someone who could joke around with and sneak outside for a cigarette with. She had left him to his own devices for a little while to go get a quick drink of punch before wondering back to the dance floor where she could get in a quick dance with the girls.
It was on her way to the dance floor that her head began feeling a little weird, like she was in a daze. She tipped her head to look into the cup that she had just taken. "What the..." inevitably she bumped into someone. Looking up nervously at first she saw a face that would normally make her cringe with fear. Instead she felt her eyes get bigger. Alexandria Quentin was surely the most beautiful person she had ever seen. Brushing her fingersacross her locket nervously she took a deep breath. "Hi," she said somewhat breathlessly. All thoughts of anyone else went out of her head.
Alex hadn't come with anyone to the dance, and she was getting pretty sick of it happening that way. She had expected that by now, Charlie would have gotten sick of Jennifer Parry by now, but it certainly wasn't happening fast enough for her liking. She had shown up, she hated to admit, partially in hope of winning Charlie's favor. She had been pre-drinking a little pink champagne in celebration of the holiday back in her room, though it was quite a shit holiday in her opinion. Love and fluff and sweet things were not exactly Alex's cup of tea. Being slightly buzzed and more than a little irritated was more her style lately.
She was going to win Charlie's favor, and convince the blonde to come back to her room and finish the bottle with her. Whatever she had to say to make that happen, she would say it. She had even taken the time to bully a sophomore into giving her the rose her boyfriend had given her, and she supposed it would be nice give to Charles for Valentines day.. or whatever. Her eyes scanning the room and looking for Charlie, she almost ran into Meka when the girl was suddenly right in front of her. She raised an eyebrow as she looked down at the other girl. "Yeah, hi. Get out of my way," she replied dryly.
"But... but I love you," she said, her lips quivering a little. She felt like she would die if Alex didn't love her. "I know we don't really talk a lot but I could like... make you really happy, I swear it!" She couldn't let Alex go, not after finally finding someone so perfect.
Alex was a bit tipsy, but she certainly wasn't drunk enough for this. "We don't talk ever, you disgusting little band-geek," she sneered back, becoming more and more irritated as Meka stood in her way. Maybe the stupid bitch needed a nudging with her wand, if she didn't get out of the way soon.
"I won't be happy until you're out of my face. Don't you have a flute or something to go play with?"
"I forgive you, cause I know you don't mean that," she said still pouting. "And it's a piccolo, I mean... I play the flute but mostly the piccolo. Would you like it if I played a song for you? I don't have it with me but I can totally play a song for you later," she flushed. "I'll write a whole operetta dedicated to you."
Not really wanting to deal with him for that night, Sera had lied to Max telling him she had far too much homework and couldn't go to the dance. It was pretty lame as far as excused went but it seemed to work. It was just three days before Valentine's Day and Jenn's birthday and Sera was really just hoping for a chance to talk to her, even if just for a few minutes. Maybe not fix everything. Technicially she was still living at home so confessing her love and asking her to be her girlfriend again still seemed out of the question. It couldn't hurt to atleast try to mend things a bit though. Maybe Meka was right and they could at least be friends or somethng again.
Sera had picked Jenny up a small gift, a pretty weak apology considering everthing, she knew that, but it was worth a shot she supposed. She really did still loved her. And much as she had said she just had to cut her out of her life completely, it just wasn't that easy... Impossible actually. She stood waiting at the punch bowl, keeping an eye out for Jenny. She didn`t know whether she`d was going to be there with Charlie.. or with someone else or alone. She hadn`t really bothered to find out. Alex hadn`t been on her case in a while though if that was any indication. Not noticing her even approach Sera was a bit startled when she turned to Charlie standing next to her at the punch bowl. She couldn`t see Jenny around, but just kind of went for it for the next best thing she could think of. Just asking any. Speaking as casually as she could, considering. It was worth a shot right? "Um..Charlie Right?.. You wouldn't know where Jenny is would you?" She grinned as best she could, trying to be polite before raising her glass to finally take a sip of punch. Within Seconds she grinned up at Charlie, moving a bit closer to her, blushing just a bit just from being in her presence. How hadn't she noticed before? She was beautiful.. Like the most beautiful person she'd ever seen before. She's always found her a bit cute, but this was different. She loved her. Forgetting all about Jenny and who she was actually talking to she held out the gift to the blond suddenly, still blushing and grinning like a lovestruck fool she was. "I ..Umm, will you be my Valentine?"
Charlie had been a bit surprised by Jenny's enthusiasm at coming to the Valentines dance. She hadn't voiced her opinion, but she was glad that the older girl was at least trying to move on. Who was she really to question getting to be the girl's Valentine? She knew Alex wouldn't ever be caught dead with that title. She had gone over to the refreshment table to get them some punch, and hadn't noticed that Sera had been standing right there. She was a bit startled when the other girl talked to her, freezing a bit like a deer in the headlights. Talk about awkward! She didn't know if it was really her place to tell the girl off for the way she had treated Jenny, but boy did she want to.
"I do know where Jenny is," she replied with a small frown. Clutching her cup of punch, but not drinking it. She felt like it was her job to protect Jenny now, especially since Sera had done such a poor job of it. "But why should I tell you?" She was extremely taken aback when Sera was suddenly invading her personal bubble. And what was with that look she was giving her? Taking a hasty sip of her drink to try and stall for time once Sera asked her to be her Valentine, she coughed a bit as she choked on the overly sweet punch. This was extremely strange, and she wondered for a moment if Sera was trying to fake her out. The thought was suddenly gone from her head as she took a closer look at the other girl. She had never noticed it before, but Sera was gorgeous! She couldn't blame Jenny for being upset to lose her. She was beautiful and smart. Charlie blushed profusely and rubbed the back of her head with her hand. "Well who else's Valentine would I be?" She asked the girl, a goofy grin breaking out on her face. "You're the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen, Sera." She took the gift from the girl's hands and pulled her in for a big hug. She cupped Sera's cheek as she pulled back to look down at her. She could feel her heart swell with love as she looked into Sera's eyes. "Y'all just made me the happiest girl at the dance!"
When Charlie frowned at her Sera only moved closer. She didn’t know what she did to upset her love but she had to fix it. She was right anyway? Why should she tell her where Jenny is? She couldn’t care less really. Not with Charlie standing right there in front of her. “Who cares where she is!” Sera gasped grabbing Charlie’s hand in hers and squeezing it a bit. “Now that we have each other Charles nothing else matters.”
When Charlie started blushing Sera could only grin bigger, kissing the other girl when she accepted the gift and pulled her in for a hug. She couldn’t have been happier. She was so scared Charlie wasn’t going to like it and wouldn’t want her. She didn’t know how she hadn’t seen it before but she had to be the perfect girl for her. Even her dad was going to love her. How could he not? “There’s no way beautiful!” She informed her pulling back from their kiss just barely, and shaking her head abit cutely. “You made me the happiest girl at the dance! In the world maybe!”
When Sera kissed her, Charlie was sure that she saw stars. Her brain was slowly turning into mush as she kissed the smaller girl back. It was perfect, Charlie had been crazy to even consider anyone else. When Sera pulled away, Charlie pouted slightly. She had been enjoying that kiss, but once she saw Sera shaking her head, she couldn't help but smile. "You're too cute Ser," she said, kissing her again.
She didn't know why she hadn't realized it, Sera Donnelly had always been the answer. She was smart, beautiful, talented and driven. Charlie knew her father would have approved of Sera the second he met her. She pulled away from the kiss, a wide grin on her face. She leaned in to plan a quick kiss to the tip of Sera's nose. "You couldn't possibly be the happiest girl in the world," she protested. "Because I'm the happiest girl in the world!" She laughed, giving Sera a goofy look. "Well, I suppose you could do me the honor of being my girlfriend? Then I'd really be the happiest girl in the world." She waited nervously for Sera's reply. She was so in love with the smaller girl it hurt. She couldn't imagine ever being without her, and she hoped to god that the other girl wouldn't shoot her down.
"Of course I will." Sera gasped, unable to really believe what she was hearing. Did Charlie Baker really just ask her to be her girlfriend?? She pulled the other girl in only holding her tighter. She was pretty sure she never wanted to let her go.
"I was going to ask you the same thing but ya beat me to it.. We're so perfect for each other Charlie. You're like the best girlfriend I could ever ask for!"
Hunter was uncharacteristically nervous for the evening, but that was mostly just because everything had to go down perfectly. She had thought about this for a long time, since Christmas which felt like a very long time ago to her now, because Monkey was getting closer and closer everyday. They were running more and more out of time to prepare, every single time they went to sleep and woke up to start another day. That was one less twenty-four hours to waste, before they had a baby that they needed to spend their time with.
She wasn't worried about it, not in the typical sense, but it still seemed surreal in it's own way, but it was getting closer and closer to being real. It was part of why Hunter had come to her decision. She had mentioned to Mack already about looking for apartments off campus, they both had girlfriends who didn't have anywhere else to go and there was another break coming up soon, but she had left out the other crucial part of her plan that came with the moving out thing. It was never the moving out together that she was worried about, she figured Michi would be glad to get off of campus and have some space that they could make their own and prepare for the baby to come. Standing over by the punch table, the tall blonde was practically squirming, turning the ring she had bought over and over in her hand, absently clutching it but never letting it go. It was too perfect, she had actually had a bright idea for once. People didn't compliment her often on her intelligence, maybe her cleverness, but this idea had been a mixture of both. She had practically drained one of her dad's credit cards to buy the damn thing, and it still didn't feel like it was good enough for the younger girl. She was probably going to catch hell from her folks, perhaps they'd cut her off again, as they sometimes did once or twice a year when she did something really brazen against them. Usually they got over it in time when she fucked up, when she spent too much, but if it came to this time, maybe it was high time that they heard about Michi, about what was happening with them. Her parents were the last thing on her mind when she bought it. She had been thinking only of Michi really, feeling sort of goofy, thinking about the family they were going to make. She had chosen emeralds and diamonds, and the emeralds were perfect for them. She had looked it up, the birthstone for May. She could only hope Monkey wouldn't be early and blow the whole sentimentality of it all. She had gotten four emeralds; one for each of them, then Monkey and Yori. It was gonna be perfect. But she still couldn't shake the nervousness deep in her gut. She was pretty sure Michi would want to marry her, to be with her forever.. but what if she didn't? Her own parents couldn't stand her, and your parents were meant to love you no matter what. It was a root that she couldn't shake. If your parents couldn't love you, who else could? There was only one person she knew could relate, and it was Mack, who she was keeping an eye out for as she continued to fidget beside the refreshments. She hadn't gotten drunk, even though it was a dance, it was too special of a night. She needed her best friend to build her confidence, not alcohol. She couldn't get falling down drunk and then just propose, it wouldn't be the same. Waiting for Mack's head to appear among the crowd, Hunter scowled as she poured herself a glass of punch instead. It wasn't liquid courage, but it would have to do. Taking a large gulp, she smacked her lips a bit. It was overly sweet, but not bad, kind of like.. well, actually it was really good. She thirstily finished the rest of the cup, and began pouring a second. Managing to get her phone out, she decided that she couldn't wait to see Mack. She needed to see Mack right then, like as soon as possible. Where was she? She was already texting the shorter girl as fast as she could; 'cum find me bb i need 2 c u xoxoxo!!!!' Her eyes were still scanning the crowd desperately for any sight of her best friend's gorgeous blonde hair.
Mack had been enjoying the dance so far, it was great to finally be able to go with her girlfriend. Usually, Mackenzie hated Valentines day. It was just full of stupid, sappy people and too much pink. This year, however, thanks to Tatum, she was actually enjoying herself. She had been just been about to ask Tatum to dance when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Rummaging around, she quickly extracted the phone and frowned when she saw what it said. Rolling her eyes, Mack kissed Tatum's cheek and told her she would be right back. She didn't know what her friend wanted, but Hunter had been acting weird lately. Mack knew that the other girl must have something up her sleeve.
She scanned the room, searching for her tall counterpart. She checked several corners before heading towards the refreshment table. They had always been notorious for spiking the punch, and if Hunter was that excruciatingly excited in her text, it could only mean trouble. Mack spotted the blonde girl bouncing on her toes lightly at the punch bowl and could help but smirk. Hunter was so predictable sometimes. She sauntered over to her best friend, and tapped her on the shoulder. "What's up, bitch?" She said, her smirk turning into a mischievous grin. "What's got your panties all in a twist?"
When Mackenzie came into her view, there was absolutely nothing else that Hunter could see. She was positively elated, practically falling over in her hurry to rush forward and meet the shorter blonde as she sauntered over. "Girl," she managed to get out, feeling all sorts of totally forbidden and unexpected feelings swelling up inside of her as she stared at her best friend's face.
"What took ya so long!?" she demanded, before grabbing Mack and pulling her in, seizing her in a firm kiss.
Mackenzie barely had time to react to her friends strange behavior before she was being pulled into a kiss. She stood ridged with shock for several moments while her brain tried to catch up with the current events. Hunter Sommer was kissing her. Mackenzie could almost feel the bile rising in her throat. This had to be some kind of bizarre dream, there was no way that this would happen in real life.
Finally, Mack's senses kicked in again and she shoved the taller girl off of her. "What the fuck you sicko!" She spluttered, wiping violently at her mouth. She clenched her fist and landed a knuckle sandwich into Hunter's face. "Dude, that wasn't fucking funny! What the hell is wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with me?!" Hunter replied, just barely having time to straight back up from the punch that stumbled her backwards. She looked at the other girl desperately, unable to believe what she was hearing her say. "Don't you feel it?" she asked, as if Mack were stupid.
Stepping forward again, with zero regard for personal space despite the injury she had just received, she grabbed Mack's hand and held it up, against her chest. "Don't ya feel that? Girl, c'mon.. I knew. I always knew, yer like-- yer so damn perfect for me! An' you been right in front of me all along!"
Sasha had been looking for Faith for a while but still hadn't managed to find her again. All he really wanted to do was get out of there and go play video games or chess or quodpot, anything really to just get out. It was getting warmer in the ball room and everyone was starting to shack up. Even some of the teachers were starting to get all goofy and weird about each other. He was sure he had seen Teodoro Ramirez making eyes at the headmaster. It was just... uncomfortable.
Unable to stand it any longer he just went outside for a cigarette. After lighting his cigarette he stashed them away in his jacket and leaned back against the wall. He knew he was close enough to get caught but everyone was so distracted he figured he would barely even register on their radar. Typical day right? he thought to himself with a sardonic grin. After he finished this cigarette he vowed to himself that he would leave, with or without his friend.
Eden had been doing her usual dance routine, getting knocked back by university bitches and making a general nuisance of herself. It was thirsty work, thirsty enough to require a large glug of punch, it had seemed, because the love potion had got to her too.
After drinking her punch she had felt weird. Fuzzy, kind of. As she stumbled outside, she tapped the tall, goofy kid next to her and motioned for a cigarette, looking up into his face as she was going to ask him to share. He was so tall.. and buff. Had her life been a lie so far? What the fuck had she been interested in girls for when this guy had been here the entire time. Staring up at him wide-eyed, Eden proceeded to grab his neck, drag him down to a more comfortable level and place a kiss right on his lips. His jaw was so chiseled! "I fuckin' love ya" she blurted out, trying to put him into some sort of half nelson in case he tried to run away.
Sasha was just about to hand over his cigarette case when the girl was suddenly tugging him down and firmly kissing him. He tried to pull away from the small girl but she was a toughie and had him in some sort of wrestling move. "What the hell?" he blurted in Russian.
"I do not mean to sound mean but I do not know you," he managed to grab her wrists and held her gently away from him. "Why are you kissing me?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
