Summary It's Charlie and Jenny's six month anniversary, but nothing ever goes according to plan..
Tonight was going to be perfect. Things between Charlie and Jenny had been slightly strained to say the least, more arguments and less making up. It was all down to him, of course, like always. He had to stop dealing, he might get
hurt. It was only last week he'd met up her with a black eye, that argument was still fresh in the air. But none of that mattered tonight because he was going to fix everything.
They were cruising slowly in Charlie's car, Elvis on the tape deck. He tapped his tumb on the steering wheel to the beat, his other hand occupied with a cigarette. He glanced over at Jenny briefly, catching her eye and smiling. She looked amazing and not for the first time he wondered what she saw in him. He'd gone to some effort to, as much
as he could bear. Even after six months she still made him feel like a total goof. She always managed to worm her way past the facade.
They drove for a while, silent. Charlie was enjoying the music, it was a mixtape he'd made to appease her. Every so often some 80s Madonna or Abba would come on and he'd grin and bear it. It was dark by the time they reached their destination, a surprise for Jenny. They were at a Drive-In, it was old and dated and fantastic. He hoped she would like it, it had taken a lot of thought to come up with. Shutting off the engine he stubbed out his cigarette, stretching his arm out and curling it around Jenny's shoulder's possesively.
"What do you think?" he said, planting a kiss on the top of her head. "I chose the scariest film they were showing, Princess." He smirked, knowing she'd have to get close to him.
