"I don't know, I just--" He started defensively, speaking quickly for the first half and then really slowly as he tried to think of a better reply than-- "...Don't ...really ...care?" It didn't really seem to happen.
Gray shrugged and stood next to her, leaning on the wall and lighting up a cigarette as he did so. Frankie was smart, so maybe she had already figured the shadow of the building would hide them from any authority figures that would bust them for smoking on campus.
