Jenny trailed off again, glancing over her shoulder, before returning her attention to Ella. "It's kind of weird, don't you think? I didn't know how to say it. How do you just tell someone that you think you might be-- you know? I never even knew gay people until we came to school. Does that make sense? Sort of?"
She sighed a little, rubbing her hands briefly over her face and sighing. "I'm really sorry, El.. seriously, I didn't know how to say it, that's all. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't tell anybody before I told you? I told I told her nobody could know until you knew. I hated not telling you the truth.. it's just still weirding me out. It's nothing something that you can just.. read a book about and be good at."
