Sera moved past her sister, letting herself into Tatum's room whether she wanted her there or not. "I don't have a date, Jenny thought it'd look better if she took Charlie." Sera sighed, flopping down on the side of Tatum's bed, tucking her dress carefully beneath her to avoid wrinkles. "I guess gay people in love only get to dance under the stars with their ex-boyfriends." Sera half-grinned, half-shrugged.
She understood why Jenny had taken Charlie. She wasn't ready to come out, especially not to her parents who'd be expecting to see pictures of her and her date. Understanding or not though it wasn't going to be easy for Sera seeing her there with Charlie. Sera half wanted to skip the dance all together or at least not show up completely alone which is what brought her to Tatum's door.

"Why aren't you ready? Aren't you going to the dance?" Sera finally asked looking up. "You better of asked Frankie or atleast talked to her.. what's up with you two lately." Sera questioned, looking over at Tatum with somewhat of a worried look. As new as Sera was to dating, and especially to dating girls she never missed an opportunity to give advice of the matter.
