"That wasn't entirely her fault, I said.. some things that I, uhm probably shouldn't have said either. We all did things we didn't mean and-- it was really all Ginger and Amber's faults," Tatum pouted in protest, reaching over toward Mackenzie. Without bothering to ask, she took the blonde's pack of cigarettes and removed one, slipping it between her lips and lighting up. She didn't know what it was, but it was like instinct to defend Frankie. She was her first real love, her first girlfriend, and she more or less would have given anything for her. Even when they fought, she still loved her.
"No pushing," she chided, giving Mack another shove, although she knew the older girl was joking. She had never done anything to hurt her, one of the few 'cool' kids she knew that hadn't, and she knew that Mackenzie realized how much Frankie left to her. "We'll just be polygamists and I'll marry you both. We'll move to Utah or something," she joked, rolling her eyes. "I mean, if you're like.. gunna bug me forever, we might as well commit for tax purposes."
When Mackenzie swore not to laugh at her, that was good enough for Tatum, although she did take a quick glance around them to make sure nobody else was sneaking up to join the conversation. "Okay, so the other night I was just in bed.. I was super tired, cause I smoked all the weed I took from Maine cause I-- since I can apparate now, I can take stuff I couldn't like, take on planes and stuff. And my brother's friend had this great stuff, but I smoked like a whole bag and I was so tired that I just went to bed super early, but then like.."
She paused for a moment and inhaling deeply, trying to steady herself and stay on track. She was a little baked and it was hard not to drag the story out. Mostly, she realized, talking about it made it real. If Mackenzie believed her, that would make it a real experience. "I woke up, I had a dream-- bad dream, I think and I looked up on my.. my ceiling, I hid under the blankets, and when I pulled them back and looked, there was this.. this big thing running across my ceiling right over my bed. It looked like a big bug or something, it was so huge! Like, it was bigger than Lunkhead and Teagan combined. Like, at least two cats. More like, the size of a dog. Except definitely not an animal, it was.. totally, totally a bug."
The red-haired girl bit her lip, shuddering visibly as she thought about it. "I woke Bekka up but she-- by the time she woke up, and I let her get out of bed, it was gone, I guess. It didn't attack us or anything, it was just gone. But now she thinks I made it all up, or she seemed to think I did, but I didn't! Honest!" she sighed, reaching her free hand to rub her face, flicking the ash from the cigarette from the other. "It was like an acid trip, but it wasn't."
