"Of course," he said brightly. "We would be happy fat cats, chowin' down on s'mores and bacon all the time," he grinned. "It honestly doesn't matter to me though," he said. "What's inside is more important, always has been."
At her question he nodded. "Of course I wouldn't," then he was looking back at her, concerned. He wondered how many people had taken advantage of her, how many people had walked all over her and treated her like nothing more than a doll. "I never will," he said kissing her forehead. "And I won't let anyone take advantage of you again."
When she leaned her head against his shoulder and rested his own head against hers. "You deserve to be treated like a human being Ginge," he said quietly.
