open to joshua
The past two days Logan had been in the city, having to go back for work, but he explained he needed a few weeks off and he planned on sticking close to the haven in hopes of helping Moon adjust. The fact that Hunter hadn't just given up on the young wolf was promising, and Logan wanted to do whatever he could to help Moon out. Andrew had gone back into the city as well, for the past few days to meet with his parents who were visiting, and that left Joshua alone. Not only had Logan hurried back to see Moon, but he'd also wanted to see Joshua without Andrew hanging around. It was selfish, and pointless, but he couldn't help that he felt a very strong pull to Joshua.

It was early evening when he slipped into the house and out of his shoes and jacket, and when he headed into the living room he paused and was surprised to see Joshua dozing on the couch with not one, but two wolf pups lying right on top of him. For a moment, Logan furrowed his brow and just stared. His senses took a moment to pick up on the fact that the two pups were Julie and Miah, and when he realized it, he reached down to gently touch the top of Julie's head. The white pup looked up at him sleepily and opened his jaws to yawn loudly, and Logan arched a brow in surprise. It was a mini Joshua. It took Logan a moment to realize that Joshua's eyes were open, too, and when he did, Logan drew his hand back sheepishly.

"We're not suppose to shift this young," he said softly. "I mean, Hunter and Austin could, but they're full blooded. I didn't even think this could happen - how did it happen? Are they okay?"

Joshua had wanted to go with Andrew, but the man's parents, frankly, terrified him. He also hadn't been entirely sure that if he'd said something about wanting to go that Andrew would have invited him. But he didn't have much opportunity to mull over that possibility given the goings on with his brothers. While some of him was afraid for them, most of him was jealous that he hadn't shifted so early on in his development. Surely this meant that they would have an edge on him when they were all grown. Sometimes it disturbed him how his mind instantly went to issues like that, but he couldn't help it. Deep down, he could feel that they weren't hurt or in pain, so he wasn't as nervous about them as perhaps Wendell was. Granted, Wendell was thinking of the longer term developmental issues that might occur if the boys didn't switch back soon.

Joshua liked watching Logan, and he indulged himself in the sight of the other boy's hand against the soft white fur. Not moving too much, he lifted his head a little. "They feel okay," was the best answer he could give to that last question. "They fell into the water. Hunter heard trouble and went to get them, found them like this. They think it was the trauma that made them shift but no one knows why they were able to do so."

	Logan knelt down beside the couch to get a better look at both of the pups. They were so teeny, and it was absolutely adorable. He wet his lips before he looked up at Joshua's face, and he smiled softly. "Julian looks like a mini you," he said with a grin as he scratched behind Julie's ear. "All white and pretty. The boys were able to shift early because their mom is a werewolf's daughter :D

Joshua wished he was better aware of what he looked like in wolf form. Staring down at Julian, he laughed a little. He was a handsome little wolf, though so was Jeremiah. "I suspect 'Miah will grow up a little more feisty than Julian." He could already see the stubbornness in him and sometimes he worried that Jeremiah's bad experiences would morph into a difficult life for him in the future.

But he put that from his mind and stared over at Logan. "You've been gone," he pointed out the obvious and the tone in his voice made it clear that he didn't like that fact.

	Logan let his hand settle on top of Julie's head as he looked up and met Joshua's eyes. He sighed quietly and let his hand slip away from the little wolf pup, and his fingers brushed against Joshua's arm. "Just a few days," he corrected. "Why, did you miss me?" be teased. 	He liked feeling Logan's hand against his arm, but it made him frown a little because he thought about that creature down in the basement who seemed to be getting Logan's attention in a way that Joshua didn't like. 	"Oh? I am, am I?" Logan replied with the same sort of smirk. With Andrew not there, it was so easy to let his attraction to the other wolf take the lead. It was so easy to flirt and be playful. "Yes. You're nice to look at, and I like running with you." Liked waking up naked next to him, but he wasn't going to say that because it was a cruel thing to think with Andrew away. He missed the sorcerer desperately.

The lean paired with the question actually made his breath catch in his throat and as soon as he knew he'd shown the weakness, he clenched his jaw and pushed forward a dominant energy, something to show that he refused to let Logan have the upper hand. He wouldn't let anyone have the upper hand over him if he could help it. "Jealous?" he said flippantly.

There was something very satisfying to Logan about the fact that Joshua found him attractive. Running together was also a favorite of Logan's, as was waking up naked together. At Josh's question, Logan leaned in, not put off by the other wolf's dominant behavior. He laid his head down against one of Joshua's shoulders and he just looked up at Joshua's face.

"Yeah, jealous, do you get jealous of me spending time with him?" he asked with a half smile.

His lips pursed tightly at the touch and the way Logan knew how to push his buttons. But he would not lie; it was a cowardly thing to lie. "I'm jealous of the way you fight for him. And the way you talk about him." He sighed and turned his head away from Logan, angling his face toward his opposite shoulder because he was feeling extremely frustrated and looking at that pretty face so close to his was not what he needed right then.

Logan could tell he was pushing the right buttons, and it tempted him into wanting to press even more. He always walked a very fine line with Josh, and it was difficult not to teeter, especially when the other wolf smelled and felt so good to be close to.

"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "He just needs someone to care, to be on his side. He has no one. You know you came first, though. You were the first wolf I felt something for."

Joshua kept his head turned, and felt protected by the little wolves still covering his chest. But his hand dropped from the side of his body and brushed against and then rested on Logan's side. "Is your affection always so connected to pity?" The words had an edge to them that contrasted sharply with his soft touch. He knew that wasn't the case, but it felt satisfying to bite a little.

The words stung, just like Joshua wanted them to, and Logan was never surprised at just how much the other wolf could make him feel with just words or a look. He let out a quiet sigh before he dipped his head down to press his face against Josh's shoulder, so that he could inhale his scent before he moved to get up.

"That's really not fair, Joshua," he said quietly before he turned to head into the kitchen. He felt too hot to stay inside now, though, so he slipped out onto the back porch for some air.

He took pleasure where he could and there was pleasure in making Logan hurt through the simple use of his own power over the other. But as soon as Logan left, Joshua felt guilty and he sighed, staring up at the ceiling for a long while. Finally, he shimmied out from beneath his brothers and went to go find Logan, half expecting his trail to lead downstairs where the mutt was being kept.

When he found him out on the porch, he stood in the doorway for a moment before letting the screen door shut loudly behind him. Even though he knew he hadn't snuck up on Logan (especially if the bumbling puppies had followed him) he wanted to let the door do the announcing of his presence for him. After a bit, he apologized. "I'm never fair." Well, he sort of apologized.

	Logan knew that Joshua was coming, and when the door slammed he didn't turn around. The apology, if it was one, was honest. Joshua wasn't often fair. Was he ever fair? Joshua exhaled a short laugh that was less humored and more frustrated. His arms had been folded across his chest, but they dropped to his sides then. "Do you really like that kid downstairs? Like I mean, do you like him?" He realized how many times he'd said 'like,' and knew he was stumbling over words because he felt nervous about broaching this subject head on.

Logan stared over at Joshua for a moment before he stepped forward and backed Joshua up against the side of the house. He put his hands against Joshua's hips and tipped his head down so that he could meet the other wolf's eyes. They were face to face, and very close. Logan hated that he liked being so close to someone he couldn't have.

"Why do you care if I do or not?" he asked quietly.

A growl rose up in Joshua's throat, body tense. But the anger quickly discharged and he chewed on his bottom lip for a moment. "I just thought that wolves were only supposed to have one person, one mate. And if that's the case, then I'm messed up. Why do I feel attracted to two people? It isn't fair." He was desperately in love with Andrew, but he was drawn to Logan and it made him feel incredibly guilty.

"We're not suppose to have or do anything," Logan said quietly. "It's just that in most cases, that's how things go. But Vaughn and Everett and Jacob don't conform to that standard. Neither do Robin, Sullivan, Haben, or Austin." Though Austin wasn't entirely in on that mix of things, at least as far as Logan could tell. "I know how you feel, though. You don't like the attention I give Moon, and I don't like the attention you give Andrew."

He put his hands on Logan's chest to push him back but he didn't get that far and just rested his palms there. "Then maybe I really do need to just move back to Seattle with Andrew." Because he was pretty sure that the sorcerer wasn't going to allow some sort of foursome arrangement, and it wouldn't feel at all fair. "If Andrew felt like this about someone else, i'd hunt ther person down and tear them in half." He spoke with the utmost honesty, leaning his head back against the house, relaxed enough to let his throat go unprotected, though it certainly wasn't an offering.

When Joshua didn't push him away, Logan didn't move. Normally he'd respect boundaries because that was the type of person that he was, but it was too hard, and right now he was giving in. He dipped his head down and closed his eyes as his cheek pressed against the side of Joshua's, and he let his wolf rise up to the surface. His wolf was calm and had a wise feel about it, and it reached out to Joshua's, wanting to connect desperately.

	Joshua let it happen, allowing Logan's wolf inside to come and chase his own. He sighed with it, leaning forward just a little and letting his lips part with the breath. His own wolf was full of youthful energy and an unbridled sense of power that needed something to teach it. When they connected, it was electric and Joshua couldn't find the will to pull back. 	The second their wolves were connected, Logan felt the overwhelming urge to act on his attraction to the smaller wolf. Joshua was smaller, thinner and almost delicate looking, but he was strong and full of an energy that was impossible to ignore. "I can't do this to Andrew," he said with a whimper. He felt such a deep sense of loyalty and right now he was betraying everything in his brain that distinguished right from wrong. With a herculean effort, he drug back his wolf. It was a show of control that was beyond his years and it forced a cry of pain out of him to do it. "I'm just--I think we should just avoid each otherfrom now on." He hated to say it, and the moment the words left his mouth, he wanted to take them back.

	The moment Logan felt Joshua pull back, he let out a soft noise of pained disappointment. He swallowed hard and let Joshua draw his wolf away, and he did the same. Joshua knew himself well enough to anticipate a fight with Andrew, not necessarily because Andrew would be angry, but because Joshua was upset with himself and would start one just to punish himself. Joshua pushed away from the wall and turned his back on Logan as he headed inside. He was ashamed of how cowardly that was, but he couldn't face Logan as he spoke. "Yeah, that's what I want."
