As much as Graham wanted to say that he'd never miss pack life, he could never quite say the words. He sometimes missed his pack... especially Sigmund. They had a rough go of things for a few years, but it was hard to shake feelings for someone when you had such a deep ... Well, he wasn't sure what it was that they'd had. But Graham wasn't the best type of man for a pack. He didn't get along with Hunter at all, and honestly? He hardly got along with any of the other wolves.

So he took off on his own after he and Sigmund had decided to part ways once and for all. They always fell back together, so it was easier to just leave. And he found another wolf who he ended up traveling with sometimes. They tracked hunters who tracked their kind. They'd saved a lot of packs, and killed some hunters in their day, but what had to be done had to be done in Graham's opinion.

When he caught wind of the Cold Water pack being in trouble, he couldn't push down the familiar feelings of protectiveness. That was his pack, even if he wasn't actively there or a part of it. Two days later, and he was at Sigmund's door knocking. When a young man with tossled hair answered, Graham arched a brow.

"Who the fuck are you?" he asked the boy.

Casey just sort of blinked before he furrowed his brow and wet his lips. He hadn't expected that sort of greeting from the stranger at all.

"Um, my name's Casey, who are you?" he said in return.

"Where's Sigmund?" Graham asked as he pushed the human aside. It was still Sigmund's home. He could feel it... And mell the other wolf, too.

Casey smiled in amusement, and he brushed a kiss against Sigmund's mouth before he slid off of him and settled against the bed with one of his arms tucked beneath the pillows.

"Go get something to eat then, I think I might take a nap," he said softly. "Are you going to go for a run? Will you wake me up when you get back if you do?"

A run sounded good as well and he liked that Casey would suggest something like that. "Yes, of course." He rolled over so that he was on top of Casey briefly, his weight pressing down on him as he gave him a lingering kiss. After, he got up and headed downstairs to rummage around in the kitchen for food. One thing about the Haven, there was always a ridiculous abundance of good food.

Graham was finished with talking to Hunter, and he was now seated at the table with a sandwich that Wendell had made for him. Julian was sitting across from him, eating a sandwich too, and when Sigmund came into the kitchen the little boy tipped his head up to look at the older wolf.

"Have you met Graham? He's new but not really," he said in between chews. "Wendell made us sandwiches. Do you want me to ask him to make you one? He makes them the best."

Graham wasn't exactly a kid person, but he was tolerating Julian's questions. Mostly he was hoping that Wen would come back for the kid and take him away to... Do whatever it was that people did when they liked kids.

Wendell knew exactly what was going on in the house that day and he wasn't about to put himself in the middle of those two. Very little was enough to chase Wendell away, but Graham and Sigmund were just about his limit. But he liked to think that Julian was a tiny ambassador of peace, able to keep things calm between the two men because he knew Sigmund wouldn't lose it in front of the boy.

Sigmund glanced between Julian and Graham and almost laughed because he could see Wendell's plan and knew full well that the man wasn't going to come and get him. "No, thank you Julian. I can make my own sandwich." And he did so, getting out the supplies again. "I've met Graham before. He used to be my boyfriend." He purposefully referred to him in the possessive way, as if Sigmund had had the upper hand in their relationship at all time.

"I wasn't your boyfriend," Graham snapped in annoyance.

Julian just looked perplexed, and he took another bite of his sandwich as he sat there at the table. He chewed, swallowed, and then tipped his head to look at Graham.

"How come you guys broke up? Isn't Casey your boyfriend now?" he asked as his gaze went over to Sigmund.

"Boy is definitely the right word for him," Graham said quietly.

"Oh? Please enlighten me then. What were you?" Sigmund dreaded the word 'mate,' because on some levels, that's not what they had been. He didn't like to think that he'd failed at a true pair bond and it was clearly a touchy subject for Sigmund because his whole body tensed up as he tried to stare Graham down.

"Yes, Julian, Casey is my boyfriend now. Graham and I fought too much and we both liked being right all the time. I think we both liked being right better than we liked each other." Even though he was talking to Julian, it was clear that this stuff was going to go over his head and that he meant the words for Graham.

"Apparently we weren't anything," Graham shot back with daggers in his eyes.

He was losing his appetite, and that was saying something. He missed home cooked or home made anything, Wendell's sandwiches included. He held the sandwich in his hands and kept his gaze trained upon Sigmund, and Julian just looked back and forth between the two.

"You should agree to disagree," he suggested. "That's what Joshua says when Jeremiah and I don't agree."

Graham's eyes went to Julian then, and he just sort of gave the boy a weird look before he returned his attention to Sigmund and said, "Like? Really? I thought we loved eachother."

"Loving and liking have always been different ball parks for us," he said softly and finished making his sandwich. Then he started making another one, and another, because all of this adrenaline that seemed intent on staying in his limbs whenever Graham was around made him even hungrier than usual. He liked Julian's advice, smiled warmly at it because he couldn't help himself. He wanted kids of his own, kids with Casey someday. "Of course we loved each other."

Finally, once all of his sandwiches were made, he sat down at the table across from Graham, staring at him, daring him to get up and run.

Graham just sort of scoffed and rolled his eyes as he chewed. He didn't make a move as Sigmund sat down, and instead he just stared right back at the other wolf with narrowed eyes.

"You made a lot of sandwiches," Julian said as Sigmund took a seat, "You must be really hungry."

"He's always hungry for something," Graham quipped, insinuating that Sigmund was overly needy when it came to certain things.

"Yes, I'm very hungry, Julian," Sigmund said. "I guess I just didn't get full the last time I ate." Insinuating right back. "The food wasn't very filling." Now he was jabbing and he wanted to bite back the things that were coming out of his mouth. This was childish and he didn't want to hurt Graham. But that's how it always was. No matter how much he wanted to just make the man happy, he always ended up being angry with him instead.

His regret showed on his face and he looked away from both Graham and Julian, focusing on his food and the traces of shame that were welling up in his stomach. Sigmund was strong, an alpha truly, but that meant he was strong enough to know when he'd said something uncalled for and be ashamed of it.

Graham didn't say anything back. There really wasn't a whole lot to say, was there? Instead he just finished up his sandwich and sipped at his cola. He kept his gaze locked intensely on Sigmund until he was completely done, and the he got up to go and rinse his plate and glass out so that he could put them away in the dishwasher.

"I'm going for a run," he announced, though to no one in particular, and he slipped out the back door.

"He's very serious," Julian said quietly as he furrowed his brow, "He looked liks this the whole time."

Sigmund nodded at Julian's cute furrowed brow. "Yes, he's a very serious guy. He protects us all though. He's a very good man." And that was the honest truth, exactly what Sigmund truly thought of Graham deep down.

He got up follow Graham out, letting the screen door clatter shut behind him so that Graham wouldn't think he was trying to sneak. "I was actually going to go for a run too. I can go North, you go South, if you want."

Graham figured Sigmund would follow. He could sense the tension in the other wolf, and he could tell that Sigmund needed a shift, too. He glanced back at the other man and rolled his eyes.

"Do whatever you want," he said as he headed for the tree line and started to unbutton his shirt. "I really don't give a fuck, Sigmund."

That was it. Sigmund let out a growl and as he started to lope after the man, he picked up speed and let the shift happen. With sheer determination, he barely missed a step from man to wolf and he was snarling. Graham was hell bent on making him feel like shit about his life and about how their relationship had ended. Well, now Sigmund wanted to make the man's body feel like shit. Only Graham could get this kind of desire for violence out of Sigmund.

He was giving him a fair chance to shift first though and the large silver mottled wolf stood his ground, prepared to lunge just as soon as Graham caught up.

Graham should have expected it, but for some reason he hadn't. When he saw Sigmund shoot past him, he started to run, too. He pushed the shift forward, fast and hard, not wanting to be even a second behind the other wolf. It didn't take long before a jet black wolf with dark eyes stood in front of the silver one, and he snarled angrily, his teeth snapping at the air in warning.

He loved that. He didn't want to admit it, but he loved it. His heart leaped in his chest as he jumped forward, knocking into Graham as hard as he could. They were evenly matched and that was the root of their problem. Sigmund needed someone to protect, not someone to fight.

His jaws snapped shut against Graham's shoulder blade, teeth burying into his fur but not breaking skin.

Graham tumbled over the brush, twigs and leaves crushing beneath the both of them a they rolled together. He growled and struggled against Sigmund, not about to let the other wolf keep the upper hand. He managed to snag one of the other wolf's ears in between his teeth, and he tugged, not caring if he drew blood.

At the ear biting, Sigmund let out a low and threatening growl. It hurt and Graham had drawn first blood, Sigmund could feel it seeping against his fur. That was a victory in itself and it infuriated him.

Maw opened wide, Sigmund wheeled and grazed his teeth across Graham's muzzle, going for the very tender spot of his nose. It showed just how angry Sigmund was because he never fought dirty like that. Even in wolf form, Sigmund had a very human sense of honor.

When Sigmund's teeth clamped around his muzzle like that and drew blood, Graham let out a surprised yelp, and that only pissed him off even more. He drew first blood, but Sigmund got the first noise of pain, and that was enough to make Graham want to tear the other wolf limb from limb if he could. And maybe he could have, but deep down, he didn't really want to.

He used his claws to dig into Sigmund's side and pushed, nails marking up the other wolf as it dug through the protected coat of fur. When he was released, he clamped his mouth around one of Sigmund's front paws and just went to town on it, biting and shaking his head back and forth angrily.

That was going to continue to hurt when he shifted back into human form, and Sigmund tried to think of which hand that was. Right hand. The distinctly human thoughts distracted him and Graham was gaining the advantage. He tried to jerk his paw away and quickly lost his footing, hitting the ground with a grunt. The shaking back and forth didn't help either. He felt like his foreleg was going to get pulled from it's socket.

But he wasn't about to give up. Using his other paw, he slashed across the already tender nose of his opponent and snapped at the wolf's neck, sinking his jaws against it. He wasn't clamped down very hard though, losing his nerve.

Graham made a noise of pain mixed with a growl as Sigmund's paw made contact with his nose, and his grip on the other wolf's paw loosened. When he felt Sigmund's jaws close around his neck, it didn't matter that he could tell Sigmund's heart wasn't completely in that bite. It was a power move, and Graham was having none of it.

He let go of Sigmund's paw and turned his head to snap at the other wolf's neck in return, his entire coat bristling with anger as his teeth managed to sink in, and he wasn't nearly as kind as Sigmund had been.

And there was Sigmund's weakness; he wasn't a closer. He held on for a remarkably long time as Graham bit into his neck, crushing his windpipe. He had to wonder if the wolf really would kill him, or go at him even if Sigmund overcame all of his instinct and simply submitted.

Slowly, his jaws parted and released Graham entirely, giving him the full advantage. But he was not going to stop struggling and fighting. It took a little while before the lack of air finally got to him and he couldn't struggle anymore. That was when he dropped in Graham's jaws, legs giving out beneath him and he was out, never having given up or submitted properly.

Graham drew a little bit of blood, and the wolf in him definitely savored the taste. He growled, continuing to assert his dominance until he felt Sigmund go limp. He finally let go then and licked at his chops before he started to clean Sigmund up with his tongue. One moment he was biting into the wolf, and the next he was doting over him, but only because he had gotten his way. After a moment, Graham settled down next to Sigmund to curl up with him, like he had so many times before.

The licking made Sigmund come out of it quickly. The feeling of loss set in and he growled at Graham the entire time he was cleaning him up, but he didn't make a move to stop him from doing so. To be honest, it felt good and he laid his big head down on his paws with a sigh.

He was humiliated. He hated that he didn't have a cutthroat nature and that Graham did. But when the wolf curled up with him, he drew his tongue over his muzzle, as if apologizing for biting him there.

Now that they had gotten the fighting out of the way, it was as if they hadn't fought at all, save for the obvious sting of injury. Graham closed his eyes and yawned as his tail swished back and forth, as if he was completely content. It wasn't very long before he drifted off to sleep, curled up with the other wolf.
