Lunch Date
Arthur sat at the table on the outdoor patio at a small cafe in Lisbon and enjoyed the warm sunshine while he waited for his...while he waited for Mera. She had wanted to meet again and talk and he couldn't refuse her. She could ask for the moon and he would find a way to give it to her.

He would never admit it, but he was nervous. Things with Mera were complicated to say the least and he didn't want to do anything that would upset her or ruin his chances of repairing things with her. He loved her, there was no question about that, but they had been through so much that he wondered if they were past the point of being able to forgive each other.

Arthur sipped his cold beer as he waited.

The soft, stroking touch was as wonderful as she remembered. With a very little effort, Mera could remember in vivid detail how Arthur touched her and the pleasure they'd given each other. It brought color to her cheeks and made concentrating on anything else more difficult.

"Strained, but we're working on that as well. Cerdia as well as Atlantis have been through so much. I count it a tentative victory that relations are only strained and not outright hostile. I will, of course, accept your advice on the subject."

	Arthur nodded. "It's to be expected," he said. The war between Cerdia and Atlantis had been rather ugly and things like that just didn't go away or be forgotten so easily. 	Her heart was quite vocal on the idea of a small boat in the harbor where they could be alone and undressing each other. Her heart had to be firmly hushed. "We did well as a team. 	"We are," he assured her. "We both want what's best for Atlantis. That has never changed." He was thinking of a nice secluded cove up the coast. The sand was warm and the sun was bright. It would be the perfect spot to spend a few hours with each other. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Arthur shrugged. "Good food, warm sun and less of a chance of something happening I guess. Lunch without interruptions is what I was aiming for."

His thumb kept moving over soft skin and he was seducing himself the more he did it. He didn't want to stop with just touching a small area on her hand. He wanted to touch the soft skin all over her body and explore soft curves. Once he knew so well in his memories.

"Tell me when and where to be and I will be there," he promised, his lips brushing lightly across her knuckles. "Nothing in the seas will stop me."

He didn't look at her. He couldn't. She would look into his eyes and see how much sitting here was killing him. The small light touches and declarations of love just weren't enough. He wanted more. He wanted to feel her body and soft skin next to his and the two of them getting lost in a haze of love and lust.

One day this woman would be the death of him, but until then he would happily follow her to that death.

	The waitress appeared to interrupt their conversation and for a brief time the lust haze that settled over them dissipated. Their orders taken, Mera leaned on one elbow, her other hand still clasped in Arthur's. She said nothing, only gazed at him with a smile. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Arthur looked away for a moment. "You don't retire from what you were born to do," Arthur told her. There had been times, like now, when he wasn't king of Atlantis, but it never stopped him from worrying about the kingdom. He couldn't just stop being responsible for the people of Atlantis. While she was born a queen, she wasn't born to this world. She felt a responsibility to Atlantis, but if there had been a better choice with the best interest of Atlantis, she would have liked to have option.

Except, Arthur would be the one to take her place when things were better, and in her heart she knew she would not leave him.

So she nodded once and looked away. "Yes. You do not."
