New Year's
The beginning of a New Year, a time for new hopes, new experiences to come. A time to reflect on times past, remembering fond memories happily and trying to put less pleasant thoughts and experiences in the past.

It is a time of renewal, a time of rebirth. And for much of the world, it is a time of celebration. This is no less true for the super hero set as anyone else. If anything, they just have that much bigger of things to look forward to.

"I know. And I'm not trying to be obstinate. I just...well. I love you, Tim. I'm not foolish or blind. I fight the same fight you do. Please don't send me away, Tim. Please."

J'anna sighs, somewhat relieved.

"Thank you." She kisses his hands and stands up.

"I'll be in the living room if you need me. I figure you'll want to look at the seismic records I queued up."

Pausing, she kissed the top of his head.

"I love you."

"It just seems wrong to me to watch anything that isn't New Year's Rockin' Eve. Mocking Seacrest at least amuses me."

She offers him a hand.

"Made you casserole."

Maybe the night was salvageable. Maybe things would get better in the new year. Maybe it would be okay after all.

"Casserole is good. Let's eat and then we'll see if I can dress better than Seacrest." Tim smiles.
