The zombies started coming back to life. Intact. Wow. That was.... way more awesome than anything he was hopingfor here. He vaguely remembered something like that from the papers, but he'd thought Uncle Jed was just going with a forcibly Happy Ever After as he read.

He went looking for Zoe in the mess and chaos, blood still running down his cheek.

	She smoothed her hands over her hair from habit as well. It felt okay. Nice even. And not one word about her split ends. "That can't happen. You don't even live with them." Zoe double checked what she had on when she arrived so she didn't forget anything. After taking stock, the only things she didn't have were her house keys and her cell phone. Lost in the battles somewhere, but she would have to get a new phone tomorrow, and push for the locks to be changed tonight.

"But if you need to know, ask Mom. Ready to go? Don't know what the Triangle will be like, but the sooner we get there the sooner we find out what's been happening."

"Ready to go. Things were okay-ish when last I saw it, at least." And they'll head out. "Good to know. They're definitely not informed or involved, yeah. Not their sort of way to try to help. Mom volunteers at hospices, and Uncle Jed lobbies senators for children's welfare issues and they both write a lot of checks. Not really a violent bone in their bodies." They walk. A very small amount of people are starting to venture out, now the the radio's getting reports that it's over.

"Some of the gangs would take advantage to make some trouble, stage some snatch and runs if they thought they could get away with it since the cops were busy." She looked around as they walked. Curtains twitched in windows as they passed.

"She might've decided to go check on some of her clients nearby instead of me doing it when the trouble was over. Mom's pretty much fearless, but there's only one of her willing to help down here."

"She is," Zoe said simply. "But people down here are good at surviving, anyway they can. If that means going out in a zombie invasion, smart doesn't figure into it."

They rounded a corner and Zoe looked up automatically to the windows of the apartment she shared with her mother. The windows weren't twitching, they were open wide and a pale face looked down on them. A hand waved and the face disappeared. "Brace yourself. I think we're going to be met at the front door."

	Michelle indeed made it down the stairs of the apartment house and opened the front security door for them. "Zoe, I've been so worried about you!" She threw her arms around her daughter before either could respond. "You..." She wrinkled her nose and thrust Zoe back to arms length. "That smell! Oh, look at your clothes! Are you all right?" 	Michelle was briefly derailed from pouring concern on her daughter's head by GK's comment. "I never thought of it that way." She let go of Zoe and hugged GK, forgetting he was a stranger in her relief that everything was okay. "I'm glad you're both all right. Come upstairs and tell me about it. "It's all over, Mom. The heroes are doing their jobs in Star City and ignoring the Triangle, as usual. Life is back to normal." Zoe tried to rein in her mother's enthusiasm by taking her arm and tugging her away from GK. If one wasn't used to a mother who believed in showing affection on a daily basis it could get a little awkward. "At least you're safe. I would have called but my cell phone disappeared."
