What the hell happened?
(Takes place a week after this post)

Morgaine woke up in a strange place, not knowing where she was or how she got there.

The last thing she remembered was just running after the League's compound had exploded. She had gotten into the car that had been provided for her and Damien, hot-wired it, and just drove. She drove until the car ran out of gas, and then she ditched it and ran as far as she could.

And then she had passed out in an alley somewhere, not caring to know where she was.

And now...she was in a hotel somewhere, her wounds stitched up, her head throbbing.

Someone had to have to gotten her here, but who? Her brother was dead, and her mother probably was either dead or at the mercy of her grandfather.

She heard someone moving around in the bathroom.

"Where am I?" It hurt to sit up, but she tried.

Robert believed that the universe brought people together or kept them apart as needed. It was the only way he could explain how he and Jane kept getting separated so often before her death, while he found himself in the oddest places with the oddest people.

For instance, the woman in the living room of the Greek villa he'd managed to find.

Getting out of the United States in a hurry proved to be less difficult with the amount of money he still had left over from his work with the team, but he had no phone and no way to contact anyone. As it stood, that was probably best. Keith would come to him if asked, which was just a bad idea all around.

He definitely wouldn't be happy to see Morgan.

Robert exits the bathroom with two aspirin and gets her a bottle of water, passing it to her and sitting on the table.

"Imagine my surprise when I find you, of all people, in an alley less than two blocks from where I'm staying...after leaving you in Coast City." Robert says.

"You need to lie down, Morgan." Robert says softly.

"You've been screaming in your sleep for a day now. About Damien." he says.

"What happened?" he asks.

	"Where am I?" She asked again. "How did you find me? Where's my equipment?" She began to try and sit up again, wincing in pain. "I can't," she said. "I can't stay here. I have to go. I need to avenge my brother's death. Ra's al Ghul must die." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Robert pushes her back down onto the couch and holds her there until she stops trying to move.

"Greece. You nearly got attacked by some very not nice street thugs while you were out of it. In the kitchen on the table. It's all been sharpened and cleaned." he says, answering her questions in the order she asks.

"Now, before you go trying to tear your bandages, why don't you tell me what you mean about Ra's al Ghul? He's your grandfather, right? The dead man that had his hands all over Jane?" Robert asks.

Yes, that still bugged him, even after Ra's, Jane and Merlyn all vanished, it ate at Robert that Jane was gone. He and Morgan had been so relieved at living that they'd forgotten themselves in the moment and their relationship up to that point.

"Are you saying Ra's killed Damien before he found us?" Robert asks.

"He is no longer dead," Morgaine said. "He was brought back from the dead along with the rest."

She shook her head. "He did not kill Damien. We returned to the League's compound and found that he was there, and was staging a takeover. Bane allowed me to escape. The compound exploded, and Damien was still in there, as he was not where we were supposed to meet to escape. He is dead. I do not know about our mother, though I do not think Ra's would have allowed her to die."

"I am going to kill Ra's."

"I'm sorry for you loss." Robert says, first and foremost. He understood her rage. When he learned the Artist murdered Mia, Robert had gone after the man, intent on killing him for what he'd done. Keith had beat him to it, leading to the realization that they were brothers.

Still, the fury of losing a sibling was hard to quell. He doesn't immediately make the connection between her saying that Ra's is alive along with the rest. He's been tending to her for several hours and going with sleep and little food for several days before that.

Therefore, his next words are not as well thought out as they could be.

"Being kicked out of the League has its perks, Morgan. You don't /have/ to go after Ra's al Ghul. You and I both know that you'd rather stay away from him.

Do you think Damien would want you to go after someone who killed him and nearly killed you, too?" he asks.

"And I will feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul who comes to this door seeking trouble." Robert says.

"No one is going to hurt you here. When you're better, you can leave as soon as you want." he says.

There's a very long pause as he considers his options. He doesn't have anything /else/ to do, but going against the League is fool's bet; he'd nearly been killed by the woman before him a couple of months ago in the doing of said fooling.

Still, when it came down to it, she'd fought beside him instead of killing him when it was easy or walking away. Just like Keith had.

Just like Jane.

"I'll help you with this, on one condition." Robert says.

Robert nods at Morgan's assessment of the situation. Nothing further needed to be said.

"All right, I'll help you. But you need to give yourself a few days to rest, Morgan. You were in bad shape for a bit there and it's not going to do you any good to drop dead from some illness that you don't know you have." he tells her.

"You can take the bedroom and I'll take the couch, like we did before. I'll get us some food in a bit." he says.

	Something about that name was familiar to Robert, though he wasn't sure why. Still, if she thinks it's necessary, then it needs to be done. "She was important to Damien. You're kind to look out for her like that." he says, turning his head to look at her. "So, did you have anyone else backing you up on this or were you planning on going back alone?" he asks. "It's not so much my being kind as Damien would not want to see his children fall into Ra's' hands." She said, her face hardening.

"I will likely have to go alone," she said. "I don't know who else in the League survived. Though I will need to be quiet about it. The League isn't exactly welcome in Star City, and Lian Harper's friends will think that I am there to do her harm. They won't listen to reason, the idiots."

"There are lots of truths, but the main one is that you numb the pain, Morgan. I'm not saying you're a replacement for Jane. That's an insult to you both.

But I said we were a lot alike before. You and I understand things about each other that no one else I care about does. Devotion to siblings that were deemed more important than us from the day we were born. Fathers that cast us aside. Mothers that allowed us to be turned into weapons.

I want to say that helping you helps me, but that's not true. Helping you helps you, and I'm willing to do that. And maybe, deep down, I'm trying to help to make up for what I took from you. If you get a real life out of that, then maybe I'll get one, too." Robert finishes.

"I should have picked an easier answer." he grouses.

	There was a long silence. She was supposed to be trying to kill him. That's what they were supposed to be doing. They weren't supposed to be having almost heart-to-heart talks...and he wasn't supposed to offering to help her, either, and she wasn't supposed to be taking his offer.
