The score board reads: The Universe 10, Atlantis, 2
Ash had worked on being calm. Garth had helped her learn to do that. She had learned more about doing that on her own and so she read the report while the three court mages who had been assigned this task watched her expression. There had been so many reasons for celebration. People were alive. Atlantis was saved.

But this didn't bring joy to Asherah Curry's heart. "Then you are certain of this," she asked looking up.

The first of the mages spoke. "We are sorry. We did everything we could my lady."

The next nodded. "If Atlantis had not been in turmoil when you first arrived things might have gone differently."

The last shook his head. "I am sorry but I can not let them give you false hope, Princess, I am certain without a measure of a doubt that the creature's magic cut off any way for us to follow your path back to your world. I do not think you will ever return home in this life time or the next."

She looked back down at the report again and suddenly felt she did not want to stay here. She suddenly felt a sharp lance of grief from hearing and reading everything given to her. She missed her true home.

"Thank you for trying. I must take my leave of you." She would not break down in front of them. Instead she would retreat to the still damaged royal gardens and find something to hide behind. She was going to have a good cry because after everything that had happened this stung the worst.

She did not know though that the mages would feel duty bound to report this to Mera and Arthur. For Asherah is still a child an they feel the King and Queen would like to know what is happening in the life of their daughter from another world and that it seems she will never be able to leave.

Ash had calmed down after the talk with Mera. Of course she still had half a mind to take her temper out on any rocks that looked at her funny.

To help sooth herself though she went to one of the many side rooms. She was going to try reading. The palace had always been huge and she hadn't expected to run into anyone. Not when it seemed like everyone was trying to give her space.

"Oh. I-I.." She gulps in air." I can leave you alone if you'd like. I don't want to be a bother."

Cerdian doesn't even have to turn around. The nervous energy he feels around him can only come from one person.

"No, Asherah. I'd prefer not to be alone right now, actually. Please sit down." Cerdian says, looking over the book on the small table before him. He sits with his legs-crossed, staring down at it.

"You seem...troubled." Cerdian says. "Would you like to talk about it?"

Anything to take his mind off of his own problems just now.

"No I couldn't have. Even though I was the younger sibling I was taught that duty comes first. Before everything. It makes me wish I was like Cait... because she at least embraces her feelings."

She shrugs slowly. "East Titans. They said I was always welcome. And... It's nice. I wasn't goo at having friends of my own. And I'm not stammering as much anymore. Big plus."

	"Not very well," she says with a sigh. "I tried to keep up but I had to focus on our people. And so.... I had to shelve my studies and just keep working. "I can't forget this place. It is still home. And I'll do everything I can to make sure King Orin and Queen Mera understand I will always love Atlantis."

She leans back.

"Though I want a life outside of this. I know that even though I am a Princess I am not truly.... a Princess of this Atlantis. It leaves me feeling like an outsider. So I just need something of my own. Something where I don't need to worry about not being from here originally."

People keep saying that. She just doesn't know how to take that to heart. Her expression goes blank as she gives this serious thought.

"Then I will have to find out what I truly desire from this life. It is not an easy task. When.... Everything went to hell I just stopped thinking about what I might want."

She had even made plans for if she turned eighteen while on the throne. Thank Poseidon that did not come to pass.

	Cerdian ponders that for a bit. There is a great deal of the world he's never seen and he's not sure where he'd start. "I would like to see London, first, followed by Australia. Both of these places sound like a lot of fun. I thought I would see them with someone special, once, but...not anymore. Maybe someday I will still see them." he says. (Reply to this)(Parent)
