Homecoming (Jane)
Robert Queen steps out of his cab in Gotham, right in front of Jane's building, hoping to God that Angela's information was correct. If it was...then Robert could fix the wrongs he'd left behind by leaving Jane alone in the first place. The guilt for that ate away at him, because he should have been there for her. He /knew/ she could defend herself, but against a monster like Ra's al Ghul?

He'd left her alone and she'd died. Never again.

He climbs the stairs to her building and lets himself into the apartment, hoping to catch her sleeping so that he could be the first person she saw when she woke up. He liked doing that for her. Maybe he'd even cook something for her.

He sets his bag down and gets to work cleaning up a bit.

Robert is blindsided by that news. Mia killed her? Why? Why would she...?

It dawns on him moments later. When Jane came after him, it was because of their connection. Mia had been dead a bit before all of this started. But if Jane was back, so was Mia, right?

And if Mia was back...

Oh no.

"Jane, I need your help." Robert says, coming back into the living room.

"I understand you're pissed off, and you've got a right to be, but we need to find out if Robert Franklin Wells is alive before he goes after my brother or someone else." Robert says.

	"Him." Her voice goes a little cold. "Didn't know his real name. I don't see anything on record about him coming back," Jane admitted after doing a second search. She doesn't exactly calm down under his hands. She's still pretty upset. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Jane checks her phone. Then sends a text back real fast before shutting her phone. `Yes. He came home.` "It's not you. It's... I gave up. On myself. I wasn't dealing well with Mia's death. "Jane, you know that I don't blame you for that, right?" Robert asks.

"I know that wasn't you, so I don't blame for what happened. I survived, albeit with some help, and I'm here again." Robert tells her.

"Losing you...it made me think about a lot of things, Jane. I was a mess when I realized you were dead. I started doing a lot of things just to survive.

But, I love you, too. Can we figure this out?" he asks.

	"I was a mess when I came back." She looked down. "I let people tell me anything. I messed up too," she admits. She will not talk about Ra's though, she was ashamed she had done that because she had been confused. She should have known better. "I was convinced you wouldn't come back." "Jane, none of that is important. Look, I came back because you're the only other person I can really trust anymore. You'd never betray me and you helped me when you didn't have to." Robert says.

"Moreover, you helped me save my brother, and that means more to me than I can say." Robert says.

"And...now I think it's time that I start speaking to the rest of my family. A few things have happened lately that made me rethink everything my mother and Slade ever told me about them." Robert says.

	Shit. Shit shit shit. "Robert. I'm sorry but I messed up," Jane confesses when she sees the message. "I didn't know who or what to believe in when I came back. "He wanted to know where you were," Jane explained.

"He told me you assassinated Vontrell Griffin II. What was I supposed to think," Jane asked that last part bitterly.

"He was understanding too. He talked to me when I was already mixed up. He thinks you're trying to hurt Keith I think. I knew he didn't see the whole picture. I thought if I told him everything I knew he'd get you weren't a bad guy--- Even when I was having doubts at the time."

Robert's expression turns grim. This was not the way he wanted to meet Roy or the rest of his family. He'd just have to find Roy or get to Oliver first, or even Mia.

"Look...I did kill Griffin, but only because if I didn't, the people I turned to for help would have turned on us. In fact, they did. That woman I told you about...she found us. She nearly killed me." Robert says.

He still had trouble remembering that that "woman" and Morgan were the same person. He still thought about them both.

"Look, call Mia and we'll sort this out." he says.

And then front door is kicked in. Six men, in black fatigues rush into the apartment.

"Jane, get down!" Robert says, pushing her to the floor as they fire at him.

	The tranquilizer rounds hit home, and Robert Queen drops like a stone, though he does attempt to make it across the room to his attackers. He's barely able to take two steps before he collapses. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Less than a minute later, Roy Harper enters the apartment. He looks at the damage to the door and grimaces. He would have preferred that to /not/ happen, but reaching his goal was worth it.

Shado escaped him a couple of days ago, but getting the lead on Robert was worth losing her. He'd get her later.

"Good work, Jane. Trust me, you did the right thing here." Roy says.

"Take him out of here and get him prepped for transfer." Roy says to his men. They obey.

He hands Jane a very thick envelope.

"Like I said, I'm paying you for your work. Thank you." Roy nods.

He understood where she was coming from, in a way. A part of Roy felt like shit for putting Jane in this position; she was a nice girl and didn't deserve this.

But Merlyn had to be stopped. The old adage about omelets applied here.

He sets the money down on a nearby counter and turns to go, but stops before he reaches the door.

"I'll send someone to fix your door and change your locks.

You can't talk about what happened here, Jane. Especially not to Mia." Roy says.

Then he leaves.

	This is why they can't have nice things, right? Jane sniffs and gives up. She's going to pour herself a drink. Then seriously consider setting that money on fire. Or doing a Robin Hood by dropping it off in several needy Gotham churches. After she gets properly drunk. And she had stayed sober since going to Mia's. Tonight she gets seriously drunk.
