Happy birthday, J'anna!
J'anna was one of Lian's best friends. So naturally, her birthday was not going to go unnoticed. And Lian knew just what to get her. Cookware and chocos. She'd gotten her a new bread machine. And while Lian couldn't cook or bake to save her soul, the bakery down the street from Outsiders headquarters could...and Lian had them make an entire cake out of Oreos. Well... technically, she had to get two cakes, because she knew that J'anna would eat the oreo cake all by herself. Lian got a red velvet for everyone else, as she knew that the oreo cake would be gone in a matter of minutes.

Lian placed the cake and the wrapped bread machine on the kitchen counter in Outsiders HQ. She'd told the rest of the team about J'anna's birthday.

Tim gets J'anna a Choco cake, because his girlfriend's consumption of chocos is nothing short of superhuman (in fact, it's adequately Martian).

He also managed to find replacements for every one of her cookware sets that was destroyed in his apartment fire, and he made sure to hide them in the cupboards at her apartment, which was now renovated after the League's attack a few months ago.

"Lian, the bread machine was inspired. Very smooth." Tim says.

It hadn't occurred to J'anna that it might be her birthday or, more accurately, that anyone would notice. There had been a great deal of things going on lately, the largest of which had been the zombie experience. With reality being more of a pressing issue J'anna simply did what she did most mornings (after being grateful to get a morning): she sort of muddled through it.

It was routine now, to wake up and be momentarily depressed that she woke up in a bed empty of Tim before stumbling bleary-eyed to a kitchen that still didn't have a proper decent coffee pot or cookware since everything she owned had been trashed thanks to the aforementioned zombie issues. Her apartment had been restored and furnished...but Tim had done that and it was his dime and there was no way in Hell she was going to ask him even to borrow enough money to get new pots and pans and a top-of-the-line coffee maker. It wasn't right in her book, especially after he had gone out and bought her new clothes. She'd found those in the closet two days after moving back in.

He had good taste.

But this morning she was especially tired and she failed to notice that the cheap coffee maker was gone, replaced with something better. She failed to notice the restoration of her collection of cookware. She failed to notice all of this as she left and headed to HQ. What she did notice upon arrival was the smell of Chocos and cake.

"...are we suddenly a bakery?"

"Yes, we are. We found out that there was a Martian coming to visit, so rather than a Signs, Independence Day or War of the Worlds-type introduction, we decided to bribe her with cakes and cookware. We figure that may stop her Martian wrath." Tim jokes.

Yes, he's capable of joking, from time to time. Right now, they all need it, especially after what's been going on. He has to talk to Lian.

"Good choice for ways to combat Martian wrath but...I don't get it." She looked at her boyfriend curiously for a moment, both stunned (in a good way) that he was joking with her and in the 'I am totally confused' way.

After a moment it hit her.

"Wait...my coffeemaker was too nice this morning." She looked at the breadmaker on the counter, then at the cakes, then at Lian. "...what'd I do?"
