Playing House.
GK loved having Eli over. He admittedly spoiled the guy a bit, what with the cooking and the massages and certain other things. And he tried not to seem too neurotic about putting Piglet back whenever Eli accidentally knocked him over, or reaching to sort the laundry a little differently than Eli was doing it.

And it was a lovely time, but eventually. "Eli? We need to talk."

"Nooooo," he admits. "But that doesn't mean it's not the better plan. I'm just...frustrated."

Yeah, she knew how that felt. A lot.

With a sigh, she turned them toward the North, using the alley network she knew so well. "All right, just this once, but if you get killed, you're explaining it to your mom and Jed."

"I am prepared to be yelled at through a Ouija board," he say, smiling.

The smile was better. "About your boy, though....talking to people that aren't there is never good."

"Yeah. He's been through... a lot of crap. It's bad enough I almost thought about getting him a professional, but who's going to just try to treat him for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder without wanting to lock him up or drug him or decide it's really five zillion other problems that have nothing to do with it?"

Zoe had the same opinion of therapists. She'd seen more than her fair share when she was young and angry and hadn't figured out how to channel it.

"How about a priest or reverend?" she suggested. "He'd get to talk, at least. Might even find one who knows something about it."

"...That's a thought. He's agnostic, but it might still work. They've got the confidentiality thing and all, like doctors. And lawyers, for that matter, but the only lawyer I'd trust totally does not need to hear about Eli's problems."

"He doesn't have to believe to talk to one. Probably easier if he doesn't so he can't be talked into joining a monastery or something." Zoe's knowledge of religion was woefully lacking. "Maybe that team you said he's on has one they talk to."

"Good point." GK's not that great on modern religion, either. "I'll try talking to him about that, although he hasn't been much for talking about them lately." GK looked around at their surroundings carefully.

Zoe carefully did not ask why Eli isn't much for talking lately. That could lead to information she didn't want to know.

"We're getting close to the triangle part of the Triangle. Drive-by shootings happen here a lot."

Zoe opened her mouth to say something and stopped when she heard the sounds of fighting from a dark alley. Instead, she gestured for him to follow her in. A quick flick of her right wrist slid the silenced, wrist mounted gun smoothly into palm.
