Working 9 to 5
Maria was having the morning from Hell. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. She even managed to dump a cup of coffee on her lap. Thankfully she always kept a spare outfit tucked away in the office. Lunch time couldn't have come soon enough.

Maria grabbed her lunch and her fifth cup of coffee and headed for the break room.

"Not exactly my thing. Why do you think I'm working, finishing high school, and volunteering around Gotham? My dad got tired of me bouncing around the apartment and threatened to throw me under a bus if I didn't find a way to occupy myself."

Of course, she had gotten him back by getting a job at Wayne Industries. He hated it, even if he wouldn't give her a good reason why and grudgingly agreed the experience would be good.

	Jazz nods looking somewhere past Maria into space and sitting stiller with the distraction of conversation. "Sometimes when Dad comes to get me if it's late on a bust night he gets roped in and we don't actually make it back until the wee hours of the morning." 	There's a brief hitch of panic in Jazz's chest. She needs to be more careful talking about her dad even if a normal teenage girl wouldn't be.
