As he pondered while weary
It was late on the fourth day of Mark's absence from the JSA Brownstone. He was tired now and wanted very little to do with anyone. He did have a distinct feeling that Cat was going to be upset with him though.

He should have called. But he had been busy. Now he was tired and just wanted to stare at the coffee machine for a bit. Suddenly it struck him that there were several people who were going to be annoyed. He had skipped out on Thanksgiving this year because of the Tower. He had been called there to deal with something deep in the basement and forgot to tell anyone where he was going.

He feels very guilty about that now. Tess will be calm about it. But Cat?

He has some groveling to do. Lots and lots of groveling.

"There was an abomination in the basement.... If Ms Craft had not shown up I would still be there fighting it. Nabu would not let me retreat."

"Reckon I'm much obliged to her then," Cat said. "And reckon I owe Nabu that decking'."
